383 HSR goes 10.63 at 127

good day today for the most part.

testing out the car with the new ET streets, cage, seats, and leaner nitrous tune.

I left the interior out of the car except for the two seats. With the cage i can imagine it weighs about the same as before with no cage/full interior but hard to say

Anyway first pass was 10.95 at 128 with me spinning off the line bad. I got in and out of it you can hear it on the vid. 1.83 60 and i still got high 10's like before so i know i had alot in it today.

next pass was much better. 1.54 60 foot, 10.72 at 127!

I decided it was time to spray off the line and see how the 10 bolt would like it. It handled it well but i unfortunately left the trans in first off the line and banged the limiter for awhile. I thought it was in second and i was planning on shifting myself after it shifted first to second. Oh well.

1.41 60 foot!! Was intense, it felt amazing. wheels didnt come up but sure thought it was gonna take off.
finished with a 10.95 at 127.4.

Last run i dont have on vid but it was the best so far. Off the line spraying again

1.45 60 foot
4.35 330 foot
6.76 at 101.56 1/8 mile
8.85 1000 ft
10.63 at 126.65

I was happy with that but the nitrous pressure was going down and i could see it getting richer on this run. So it could have been 10.50's at 127-128 if i had full pressure

Cant complain tho, it was amazing. I got yelled at for not having a Firejacket tho and i begged them to let me slide for now as i didnt know that was required for test and tune and the 10's. Thought that was for 9.99 or 135mph

EDIT: reloaded vid, should be smoother

Very nice! Car sounds awesome. How big of a shot?

Re: 383 HSR goes 10.63 at 127

EDIT: reloaded vid

Anyway it should be close to a 150whp shot. Thats what its rated at and i leaned it out to 12.0 to 1 air fuel so it should be close if the bottle pressure is up. Last run it was richening up alot so i think the bottle pressure was dropping

Great times. The fire jacket is required for any car running 11.49 or faster it comes with the addition of a min 5 point bar and once you hit the tens you will need sfi aproved balancer and fly wheel and a tranny blanket or shield along with a fly wheel shield. Now lets see the 10.50 pass before the end of the season.

Over here the jacket is required when running any type of power adder, regardless of ET....

I looked it up and you are right any car running 13.99 or faster will need a jacket with NOS. I have never ran slower than bottom 11s with spray never need or should I say tred to bend that rule I guess.

sfi aproved balancer and fly wheel
have those but how do they verify it? Do they actually look for it?

I dont have a trans sheild or flexplate shield and dont plan on one. its not a pure race car

This sadly should be the last numbers of the season. Early track closing. next weekend is the last day but I'm not gonna make it

Truthfully The most I have been teched thay just ask me who makes the products and are happy thay dont even look and at orlando for the fastest street car nats thay didnt even tech the car in thay just gave me a #. I had a friend show up to race that race two years back to back with an 8 sec car and no cage making pass. So to break it down you will more than likly never be checked it is just peice of mind.

Great runs, those 60's feel really good once you break into the 1.40's, then once you hit the 1.3?'s they're even better yet LOL!! Keep it up, lookin good.!

Technically the balancer sticker will probably be behind your pulley at this point, your SUPPOSED to write down all the #'s prior to installing so you can use them in tech when asked. The past 9 yrs i've NEVER been asked for any of them, but the opening day of the track i got a 30 minute tech grilling, over, under, inside the car, all the while cars behind me pulled up, talked with the tech, and left....4 or 6 cars came and went while i was knee deep in the nightmare. Then the next day, they said i had to do it again i snapped, let the guy in the both, who was the one going through my car yesterday, have it verbally and i threw my tech card at him with some more verbal abuse. Was'nt right on my part, shoulda kept my cool, but that was too much esspecially since he was the azz that was doing it the day before. but regardless i had to provide all the damn numbers, when it came to the tranny, i told the guy your more than welcome to jack it up and crawl under there to check the flywheel, tranny since i'm not going to. I was still issued my extended tech card so it was all good. Happy the car passed with flying colors, was just mad that second day.

the difference from that 1.54 to that 1.45 was INSANE. I mean going from 1.65 to 1.55/1.54 wasnt all that great, but that 1.41 and 1.45 was just crazy strong. Havent felt that nervous/excited since i was 10 years old on the rollercoasters haha

WOW!..excellent man! youve got your car movin! I hear ya!

I wish I could really see what mine can do...but I still have no tune or im just on the mail tune and there is no way! that its dead nuts from a mail tune plus and im just on BFG drags.

If i can get my 60's down in your range Im thinkin I could be running right with ya without the nitrous. im not forged so i kinda scared to hit hte juice on it although a 100 hit is safe in my book..but im want a tune first.

nice runs though man Im diggin em!

yeah 100 shot may be doable. if you get mid 11's on motor you could get 10's on the 100 shot but it be close

I wish my tune would have helped on your motor. WE could always keep trying to get it work, atleast start up just fine. let me know

Re: 383 HSR goes 10.63 at 127

oh yeah...100 is very doable...I used to hit my 305 that had 160000 on the clock all day long with 100 hit.

I cant believe your rear end is takin that 60...I would almost freak if I tried that but im not stock either so I maybe should be ok in the area too. Ive got the 4th gen torsen nuckle on mine.

I didnt hear you stallin on your runs...are you going off idle?

Hmmmmm, thought I posted earlier.

Nice run and like said above you will hit 10.50's. I don't think you lost a race in the video even though it looked like some competition. It does not look like you are going to make a run off the bottle. You are having to much fun. hahaha.

Orr you have one the best progression of performance for a street car. I really enjoy reading your topics and following your progress.

when you do your burnout, do you leave it in second and roll out??

Re: 383 HSR goes 10.63 at 127

looks pretty good!
Wait untill you feel 1.2x 60 foots and single digit passes, the rest almost gets boring lol, throw in some 100 + foot wheelies then you really feel it lol
Sometimes tech can be a pain, other times you wonder why a car was allowed on the track...
When I went to pinks all out, I had herd they were being strict on the teching, but I didnt worry much, got there he looks at the car, says open the hood, I open it I dont think he even looked at the engine, he said close it, then as he is writing something he asks, does it have a neutral safety switch..yup, ok show me, I did, he said have a nice day , I like wtf??? didnt even ask about battery holddown, shutoff, jacket, gloves (they were stuffed in helmet, which he didnt look at either) So i went on my merry way, then talked to some others, they had to change shifters, borrow jackets and helmets, change battery hold downs, and the weirdest one, the tech guys told a guy with a factory supercharged mustang it needed blower restraints!!!!!! But most of the time when i go to the track its wheres the card...what number..ok have a good day. The tech guys usually know how well they need to look at a car just by the drivers area, if they see thats good then they know how much the guy put in to safety stuff.

Fun stuff isn't it? I finally broke into the 11's on the motor a bit over a year ago then started hitting 10's this year on the juice. Going for low 10's next year, maybe with some daylight under the fronts lol

finished with a 10.95 at 127.4.

Awesome passes man!! That car is really coming around!
I know you loved that 1.41.. Isnt it weird how some times added power helps suspension work better.. That car has more left in it, we should swap intakes sometime and see what you would get with the Mini Ram on..
Did Jeff do the cage?
Any pics?

I know you loved that 1.41.. Isnt it weird how some times added power helps suspension work better.. That car has more left in it, we should swap intakes sometime and see what you would get with the Mini Ram on..
Did Jeff do the cage?
Any pics?
oh that would be awesome! wouldnt take long to swap either I'm considering going to a bigger cam with a single plane EFI victor intake. Not sure yet...i want this motor to get closer to yours but i'm down 30 cubes

i got some pics of the roll bar in another thread and i'll have more when i put the interior back in this weekend But yes, Jeff did the welding/cutting/install. 8pt is the comp. engineering kit
