ford 9"

i ordered a shortened (sp?) 9" housing when i ordered my 4 link kit but one thing i know nothing about is rear ends. i know i need a center section and axles but i forgot to ask what kind if any housing ends are on it for the brakes and it will be here in the next day or so so its to late for it to matter but other than what goes inside of a 9" i know axle bearings are in it somewhere im guessing near the housing ends but what else? do any of yall know of a schematic or something online the shows the parts of a 9"? (sorry if this doesnt make sense but sometimes it hard for me to explain what im trying to say on a computer)

Re: ford 9"

you`ll need a center section (complete..includes pinion yoke, bearing, ring + pinion, some sort of carrier i.e posi, locker, spool) You`ll need axles and bearings which are pressed onto the axle shafts..called green bearings. you`ll also need bearing retainers, some sort of brake package.

Re: ford 9"

If the housing has ends already welded on then your 4 link brakets will have to be cut to be installed. Just make sure they are welded on per the directions that come with them, or the pinion angle will be dificult to get and still have all the bars the same length. If you are doing the welding yourself go from side to side without getting too much heat into the tubes as it will warp them.
