Re: 1/4 mile estimates
Hard to tell, but I'll say high 12's... hope you prove me wrong and do better. As for slicks and a 10 bolt... just make sure it doesn't wheel hop. I still have a 10 bolt in my 2000, and it's hanging in there. Stock axles, posi, etc. I just have the axle tubes tack welded and a MAC girdle cover. The car is no light weight, and has enough nuts w/o nitrous to run the time in my sig.
Just the same, do like I did and piece together a spare rear for back up. I expect to get about a seasons worth of racing before mine goes boom.

What heads and cam?If it were a L98 i`d say mid 12`s on the bottle for a guess.Atleast I`ve seen other stocl L98 run in the 12`s on 125 shot.Your sig says something about 260 hp 350.If your talking about the gm crate 260 hp 350 i`ve heard several not so good things about them. Most of all being a pretty serious downgrade from the L98.

Re: 1/4 mile estimates
When I had my edelbrock headers heads and zz9 cam with stall converter I was running 14.2-14.1's. You would prob run 14.5's na and with spray around 13.3-13.5 range. The big prob for you would be getting out of the hold with the stock rear and slicks. Are you going to spray off the line? If you had a higher stall converter you would may dip into the 12's. Let us know how it goes

Re: 1/4 mile estimates
3.73's would be a lot of gear for a near stock TPI car, I assume the Edelbrock intake will pull beyond where stock TPI dies, but its still gonna be breathless in 3rd at the end of the track unless its been upgraded to a decent cam and heads.

Re: 1/4 mile estimates
Joe blue I would think you`d be running better times than that with those heads and cam on a 383.Your 60` looks great but My car ran 8.7 1/8th with stock stall and 2.73 gears on a much milder 350.No 1/4 tracks anywhere around here but my 8th time should net me mid high 13`s.That was before a stall and gear change. You said you were running low 14`s with zz9 cam and headers.people are running high 12`s with 350 and 305`s.Is that at high altitude or something

Re: 1/4 mile estimates
That was all that was done to the car, headers cam and edelbrock heads. the car ran 14.8 bone stock. With those improvements it ran 14.1-14.2. Within reason. I don't know many 305 n/a running 12's, but I know there are some on this board

Re: 1/4 mile estimates
Thats what I`m saying, better heads, cam and headers than I` m running.Mines all production stuff other than the flowjunk headers. What was your 8th time. And no offense but 12.53 seems alittle slow for a miniramed 383 with all you have done to it.Large valved heads and all.Faster than my car for sure, but that sounds like it should be more in the low low 12`s to me.Seems like it `s got more in it.Who tuned it?TPIS?
