stock driveshaft

Axle/Gears: 3.73 10 bolt grenade
stock driveshaft

hey guys, assuming the u joints are replaced with decent high strength units, how fast have you gone with it? anybody playing russian roullete with a transbrake on the stock ds? just trying to plan my build for the winter

The factory 3R u-joints are quite strong if well maintained. I think the 3R is similar in strength to a 1330. Not as good as the 1350 which is preferred for racing but still strong enough for most street cars.

Using transbrake on my factory steel, best 60 ft 1.31... Also used the fatory aluminum on my TA, 1.38 best 60 ft on that with footbrake.

using a steel 87 driveshaft, with the original front joint and a 1350 yoke welded on the rear, I have gone 1.25 60 foots, and 148 mph and low 9's, 3250 race weight

If you plan on running that quick, invest in a better driveshaft anyway. You'll probably need a custom length driveshaft after replacing the entire driveline.

3" x .083" wall steel shaft with 1350 u-joints and yokes.

It's in the plan, just trying to prioritize where the money is going. won't be going quite that fast till late in the year next year i'd bet, i still don't have a power plant
