1/8th mile guess...
Well, i have just swapped a couple parts today, new/used T5, shifts excelent and a different 10 bolt with 4.10 gears. Runs way better than the 2.73 rear i just pulled as you would all know, but i wonder what it will run next week at the 1/8th mile.
I am about 100 ft above sea level, humidity is high but i will run with radials then slicks(ET streets). On motor i think i might go 8.5 at the best, but on the 100 shot i figgure 8.0 or so.
Current mods: 160k mile L98, RPM air gap, holley 750 vac sec, hooker supercomps ceramic coated, stock clutch(for keeping things alive), full MSD and thats pretty much it.
All comments welcome, with the old rearennd the best was a 9.4 at 77 MPH, bogging with a best of a 2.2 60 foot.

I have seen that much going from a 3.42 to a 4.10. The slicks will be the determining factor on the extra drop in time.

Re: 1/8th mile guess...
LOL, that would be interesting, it didnt go with over 500 fwhp HP from the last engine, i would be amazed if it went on a olmost 400 HP on dope worn L98. 8.7 is the least i think it will do on motor. I forgot, the previous best was a 9.3, so if the gear picks up 4 tenths i should see a result of 8.9 minimal i think.

Re: 1/8th mile guess...
I will not be launching the way i want to, probably sliding out the clutch around 3000 RPM, and hit the dope in 2nd gear.

Re: 1/8th mile guess...
Well, i said screw the 1/8th and drove to Baytown last night, only made one motor pass, 1.9 60 foot, launching at 2200 or so, not a clutch dump, 1/8th was a 8.9 at 78 mph, 1/4 was a 13.87 at 101 mph, second pass, i went to launch at the same RPM, i was going to hit the nitrous at 2nd gear but in first the ring and pinion let go. Junk *** 7.5 10 bolt, go figgure. I I think with a 8.5 rearend or better i could launch at 4500and nick off a tenth or two in the 60 and get better but last night could have atleast given me a nitrous pass.

Re: 1/8th mile guess...
Nope, no clutch dump like i wanted to do, the rear would make a slight whine when cruising but if you gave it a bit of throttle or let off the throttle it would stop. It was really a high pitch whine not a howl. 7.5 10 bolts just suck i guess. The teeth for a 4.10 gear on a 7.5 are too thin.

Re: 1/8th mile guess...
Your not kidding, i did not want it to break loose so i had 30 lbs in the slicks instead of low pressure so it would not hook the way we normally would.
