Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
rich, i had my distributor and a set of plug wires that i got used....should just not used them, but i thought maybe it'd be a good idea. they were made by Scott Wires and had the cool heat sheild on them...i actually paid for them which is the crappy part...so i put my dad's cap/coil/plug wires on it yesterday morning and a fresh set of ACDelco R45TS's and the car runs like a champ now....didn't like the autolite 25's too much. i really need a serious ignition system but can't afford it right now.

Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
the radio pod is from an 85-92? firebird and the console is a modded lt1 camaro console. i was a little dissapointed that i wouldn't be able to run the arm rests, but the door panels are still there and look good non-the-less.

I cut a slot in my 4th gen camaro seats in the middle with a razor blade, then used a hacksaw blade to cut through all the foam to run the shoulder harnesses through the center of the seat because you can't run them over the seats like that.

Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
I see 10`s in it`s future, starting to resemble a race car a little Looks really good.
The belts need some work as said above but to add, the crotch strap is ineffective also in the position it`s in, race seats are the easiest way to solve those issues

i'm gonna see about modding my current seats, i like these much better than race seats, and i don't have $400+ to drop in a nice set of kirkey's or the like. i'll post up when i get that all done too.
i'm interested to see what it looks like on the scale now as well. it was right at 2970lbs with the other hood and no back seat. i'm thinking that i'll be just under 3100lbs with this hood, the bar, and the back seat...plus me...another 280lbs

has anybody tried the Spohn rollcage yet? They sell a chromoly kit for $299 and have doorbars that fit stock doorpanels for another $80. i'll be caging mine this winter and want the nicest fitting kit possible.

Not NHRA legal? I ask because I don't plan on changing the seats in my 2000 and will be installing a Wolfe 5 point this winter.

what happens if you crash with an extra 8" of slack harness run over the top of the seat.....it needs to be tight and ran through the seat to be safe.

That makes sense, hadn't thought about it like that before. Now I see why guy swap to TA seats, they can run the belts under the headrests.

i have not come up with a clean solution yet. all i did was paint the bracketry black and put the door panel back on for now. i just grab the top of the door sill to close the door for now. i'll come up with a good clean solution eventually.

Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
Looks great, but I don't think I can bring myself to cut my seats, they're brand new looking. Not a rip, cig burn, or stain on them. I'm seriously starting to rethink things with this car... like I need to build a stockish engine/trans for the car and put this engine/trans. in the 91'. I won't feel as bad wlding a bar in it and the belts will route under the stock headrests w/o cutting anything. ::sigh:: I dunno man... descisions to make.

Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
you could just pick up some ta seats or something...seems like an awful lot of money just to save the interior of the 2000...either way, the car will be badass with that motor, no matter what car you decide to put it in...just remember that the swap stuff alone for a 3rdgen ls1 swap is nearly 2grand for headers, y-pipe, and mounts...

Re: i ain't skeered of no 11.49!
interior is now 99% done...all i got left to do is to come up with a classy way to close the door since i can't use the door handles with this rollbar kit.
