what are your 305's running on the 1/8

hey guys i took my car out to the drag strip for the first time ever and ran some numbers that i know i can get lower. the first race i ran a 10.18 and the second race i ran a 10.39 i was not to happy with the two. but im sure i can get a lower time my buddy in his AWD turbo eclipse ran a 9.9 and i have raced him before and won. here is what i know i have. rebuilt motor with 30k on it and an auto tranny with shift kit. i have a bomz cool air intake, coolant bypass, smog pump deleted, and a 3 inch flomaster exhaust with cat deleted. stock gear. the car dynoed at 170 horse and 258 tourque. now i found out later that the driveshaft was loose real loose the bolt was finger tight and was hitting the bottom of the car. once that was fixed the car felt completely different so i have to get it redynoed and the dyno i took it to has a tendancy of reading lower that what the car is actually pushing. so again if you guys could post your 1/8 mile times that would be awsome and give me some input as to what i would push. thanks in advance guys

here is the 10.39 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQzxZeBVIhw

mine's been 7.81@88mph all motor.

yikes...bad reaction time...and you need to get rid of the passenger...extra weight means slower car.

My TPI with 3.73s and stock stall will go 9.60's all day with a 2.19 short time and not shifting to 3rd gear rapping out to about 7K its not making power, and sent a pushrod through a rocker arm the last time out, but its sure sounds cool lol. i think its a governor issue

yeah, i was pretty bad. i talked to a few guys at work and they said one of my problems was that i went through the water. they say to avoid the water and heat the tires dry then run it. i dont have any time slips. we were racing in between bracket races so they just let us run.

i cant believe they let a passenger in there with you! lol but dont go through water unless you have slicks. ditch the weight...every 100 lbs is ~.1 on your et.

lol yeah thats another thing they mentioned at work. ill hopefully be going again in the next couple of week. so any pointers would be great. should i just let the transmission do the shifting or performance shift it? i was performance shifting it on both of my races. should i preload or just floor it when the light turns green?
