Since everyones showin' their new motors...
Figured I'd let the cat out of the bag on to what I've thrown together ...It has some nice parts but it's actually a fairly low budget build. Took over a year of searching eBay and classified sections to get the right deals on the parts I needed and it's finally 95% together. With luck (which I have none of) it'll be dropped into my poor ol' car this weekend and ready for track testing soon after.
I think I win the award for most cramped work area... It's tucked away nicely in the corner of my storage shed next to an old TV and a mattress Who needs a work bench anyway?
Anyways, it's basically a 10:1 350 with Canfield 195's, custom Cam Motion solid flat tappet, PP Hurricane intake, and a 750 Speed Demon. It's built with nitrous in mind but I took the kit completely off my car so I wouldn't be tempted to spray this thing before fine tuning it.
I'll let ya's know how it makes out. Typically things I build either run way slower than expected or way faster

Looks good !!! How big is it and what was the cam size? I personally have had some good results with cam motion cams.

I hate to secretive but the cam specs are classified at this point in time It's in the .550's with 1.6 rockers and on a 110LSA - Just your typical nitrous street car type cam.
I was really surprised with the quality of the intake... I heard lots of mixed feelings on these "chinese edelbrock knock-offs" but aside from some very small casting flash that I grinded off, the intake looks and fits perfect. I believe it is slightly bigger than a Victor Jr and probably is a bit overkill for my combo but it was cheap and I plan on hitting it with a big shot. I don't want to run into any distribution problems like a dual plane could experience.
In the end, I'll be happy with a 12.0 Index car.

shoot, it better run quicker than that! i bet you if you tied the subrame together on that car and did some other little things to the suspension, you could squeeze quite a bit more out of your car.

Re: Since everyones showin' their new motors...
That motor is long gone. I tore it down to freshen it up and found out it was near death. All the bearings were worn down to the copper, the crank journals were ovalized, and the cylinders wouldn't clean up with a hone. It lasted me about 2 years of sheer abuse, multiple cam failures (damn XE's!), and countless untuned nitrous passes so I'm not complaining. Those Vortec heads did me good but it's time to step up a little
Anyway, the motor/trans went in a few days ago and will hopefully be running by this weekend. The car sat in the yard under trees for over a year so it's absolutely disgusting looking but hopefully it'll clean up... the 20 year old paint job is getting tired.
