2nd outing this year, matched best 9.6 of last year - and almost tragedy.
Finally got back to track 2nd time after lots of rain still, even rained all the way to track, went on a whim and ended up being great day with few cars.
Got the .070 intermediate air bleeds in the dominator and was eager to see if it would launch off the 2 step.
First pass:
Wheels up leaving hard, lost traction on right tire, hooked hard right in air almost hitting car next to me, almost took out 60ft box on recovery - got back in her and ran 10.0 @ 137
Second pass: aired down to 12 psi
1.35 60ft pulling wheels nice and holding pretty long.
Ended up missing shifter somehow, hit limiter for about 2 seconds, recoverd and went 10.0@ 137 again.. ahg
Third pass:
Same 60ft 1.35
9.71 @ 138 - finally a clean pass. still shifting out of first early some though.
Also started to notice some trans fluild dripping from x-member - pulled out dipstick to help vent in hope that was issue.
Fourth pass.
Wheels way up, 60ft with rear tire of 1.45
9.67@139 still smelling fluid, but only light coating on x-member still - hmm.
Guy parked next to me actually took video, I was so happy! he is supposed to mail to me -will post up when recieved.
Fifth pass,
after burnout, dripped on track, tech spotted and pulled me off - end of night.
I hope this new trans is not broke already.. gotta get under and find out.
Happy still, finally a good pass on video, got 2 step loading up issue figured out, car was hooking well. matched best et, despite very humid weather..
MPH was down 2 from best so there should be more to come.
