Well, this petition was sent to me through my local performance shop, I detail cars there and also have work done to my Camaro. From what I know the dragstrip is the old Niagra Strip, it was closed down due to a dying economy in the area. Since, the area has been somewhat built up with residential plats. Now the latest with the land is there is an indian tribe that is looking to put a casino in the area...and they are considering putting their name on the dragstrip...my thought is either way this will show the support of the public with strong interest

Here's a link I found through Goggle:
http://www.imagesbeyond.com/pages/vi...onnDragway.htm
I doubt the Sun or anyone else will revive it because it is just too far away from anything and I don't think many dragstrips, especially ones that are small and/or in the NE are making much money. I think unfortunately the really profitable ones are those in the South that are open almost year round and spend less on maitenance, and can hold huge NHRA events etc.
The CT Street Rod Assoc. just had a nostalgia slide show Feb 28th...
According to here, it closed in '86:

Looks like it is still being used...
