what do you think it could run?
Im not really setup to go straight, more of a handling orientation, but i'll get the opinions anyway
86 Trans Am
408 stroker
10.44 comp
288/294 dur .520/.540 lift with 1.6 rockers 110 lobe seperation
501 flywheel horsepower
520 lb/ft flywheel torque
tko600 5 speed
3:73's in a 10 bolt
UMI torque arm, control arms, panhard, alston connectors, coil-overs on all 4 corners, koni's up front QA1 promastars out back
i dont know the curb weight, but its got a glass hood, aluminum heads and accessories, no emissions stuff, rear seat delete, no spare/jack, and rolling on some classy 18" heavy as all hell aluminum wheels with street tires
ballpark ideas, provided i can get traction?
thanks

Im not expecting the 10 bolt to be around long, just waiting to get a few other projects finished and i'll be picking up a moser 9", would a 15" wheel fit over ls1 rear discs? If so i may pick up a spare set of rims and drag radials for when i finally hit the track.

Hey is that the T@L 408. Did they actually dyno Your motor to come up with that 501 horse figure? I'm really close to getting one myself. If so.... I can forsee maybe high 11's or low 12's at well over 110 mph with some 15 or 16" rims and an ok tire. A good tune will help obtain those numbers. I read a few posts above and I doubt You'll run anthing worse than a mid 12 with 500 horses.

you'll have to grind the calipers, but you can make a 15" fit over the ls1 rears.

Re: what do you think it could run?
yes its from T@L, its the A-2. Its broken in, dynoed, tuned and everything before its shipped, i honestly dont know how into the tune they get, whether them have a baseline or if the actually play with it to get it perfect. They are a good company, i would recommend them, lloyd is a very knowledgeable person and the whole deal was a pleasure, though plan accordingly, from other people ive talked to, the average time from order to delivery is about 3 months for a complete engine.

Re: what do you think it could run?
500 at the flywheel should yield you over 400 at the wheels.. i dont even lay down 400 at the wheels.. bottom 11's with a 1.5xx-1.6xx 60ft time.. might even hit 10's if you give it more gear.. 3.73 is conservative for drag as you can tell, i'm running 4.30 and i still need more..
also, can you bang gears well?? it can make up to .3 difference.. i trade off with my dad and on perfect runs, i'm .3 faster..

I can bang gears real quick, even using the clutch to some extent.
the 3:73 work for me as a street car, im not setup for drag racing. I wish i had some numbers to give you guys but i have this nasty habit of tearing the car apart all the time instead of driving it.... its almost back together , again...
