Will 315's fit up front?

Ive got a great deal on a set of Kuhmo 710's for autoX'ing and track days. but they are 315/17's and 315/18's. the 18's are going on the rear and fit with a little massaging but I dont know about 315's up front. ive seen them on the 4th gens but havent seen to many thirdgens out.

Anyone know what it will take to get them to fit? they are going on a set of 17" C5 wagon wheels. thanks!

Probably a llittle late.

I doubt that a 315 will even fit on a 17" wagon wheel, they are only 8.5" wide. At least they won't safely fit. Karl Hunter ran 18x11 up front, with some work, and some descent sized goodyear slicks IIRC. But not matter what, I would try anything bigger than 265-275 on the 17" wagon wheels.

I have a 275mm wide tire on the 17x8.5" C5 wheels. They are a bit wide. 265 should be the max.

315's wont fit upfront with cutting away wheel well material. That's what Karl Hunter said he did.

Damn I thought the C5 fronts were 9" rim... I run 275's up front and wouldnt go any smaller. I guess ill just keep looking for a set of used 275/17 710's.....

Im running 275/40/17's right now and have been for over 5 years and havent had a problem. I figured to run 315's I would have to roll the fender a little, space out the wheel a 1/4 inch and run a 35 series tire. but thats out the window since the wheels are only 8.5" wide. Ive seen many guys squeeze 315's on 9" wheels but 8.5 is beyond the "squeezing" limit.

I've seen it done on a 3rd gen 'bird for autoxing (running 315/35-17's on zr1 17x11 rims), but I don't know what was done to fit them
