Re: got my 28x12.50s to tuck
Ver nice job Steve, looks super clean...and running M/T's i'd be trying to tuck and hide them too
I understand the hesitance to run a true anti roll bar, and i know you've read my posts about mine, but my wolfe craft has been installed for 5/6 years now street/strip like yours and i'm yet to crack welds/break off tabs...though as you said the ride is very harsh. IF i cared about luxury ride i woulda bought a lexus and chipped it but many guys if they're going to just street drive it simply remove one bolt on one side of the end link so the anti roll bar is essentially ineffective/non operable. Yrs ago i ran the air bags, and it was'nt until i installed the anti roll bar that i got to see first hand how little they actually do and how poorly they work...it's one of those good theories, but until you make the change and get the timeslip you wont believe it. Traction is ALOT better/waaay more consistant since the car leaves flat as a pancake..see my sig again for reference...NO air bag will do that
Keep up the good work, looks very nice. and for the record when you really want to get serious about getting the most rubber on the ground, pick up some ET, get longer tire life, getcha some Hoosiers mounted up..you wont regret it i tried 2 sets of M/T's back to back to give them an honenst trial and i was very disappointed...they look like doo doo with the huge bubblious sidewall bulge, they leaked air like a ****-and i seal every bead to the rim, and were slower at every incremental on track...back to hoosier and am not changing anytime soon

Re: got my 28x12.50s to tuck
IHI nice pic, I'm looking in to buying new tires and rims in about 2 weeks, I was look for the widest tires I can fit with out a lot of work. I'm very good at doing things on the car. But need to be school when it comes to set up the rear with bigger tires like a few others I no to. That's why we ask some many question so we can have full understanding. "O" 1QWIKZ thanks for the email....
at the time I bought these rims tires I did not think about rear tractions the car spins almost all that way down the track.

2007 - back from the dead.
I would imagine having a 2" wider wheel and having that 2" all be in the back space that he'd have more clearancing to do.

josh and shagwell, ya I did this mod YEARS ago. Now i'm doing it on a lowered setup with the same rims but 28x10.5 stiff sidewalls. Traction is even better than the ET streets were as well. Now that it's lowered no more wheelies though Was going to run it out one last time this halloween when we rent out cordova raceway but my trans decided to make fun noises while put in gear that isn't present out of gear, so I tossed it back together for no reason.

Steve, change your deal to get that one wheelie picture and the put it back so it stays on the ground...for years all i wanted was to pull the front end since i thought it was cool....now i'm trying to figure out ways to keep the front end on the ground like it used too....only trying to do it going faster now on a smaller tire so "I've gots sum tuning to do Lucy"

Re: got my 28x12.50s to tuck
We got'em on, but could never find a happy place, no travel, 1" travel, 2" travel....no matter what my junk wanted to unload and would'nt hook consistantly. the zero to 1" travel kept the front end down, which i wanted, but sacrificing consistant 60's which cant afford to do.

Re: got my 28x12.50s to tuck
your car looks good.
on My 92 Z28 all i did was Buy the right back spacing. for my weld wheel drag lites.. and install the 28x12.5x15. ET Streets.
and bolt them on.. no body work needed at all!!.. i did this over 12 years ago.
when the ET Sreets first came out.. was running ET Drags.for 6 years before that. used the same rim's.. it's all about getting the right back space....(UPDATE 11.29.09) THIS IS WITH LESS THEN A 10" RIM! WILL TAKE OF AND CHECK OUT WHAT IT IS..i forget. it's been a long long time.
ALSO.. STOCK SPRINGS.. SITS THE SAME AS IT ROLLED OFF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR. BACK IN 92.. THE DAY I DROVE IT HOME.
see.. tucks under the rear Nice..MY ET Streets have never Leaked also. i use tubes as per MT.
street car 383 TPI 60 ft 1.54
just eng 11.60 to 11.70
NOS 10.34
New eng 427sbc (not in yet)
also installing all new Tube K member/A arms/coil overs (now)
to drop a few more lbs off the nose.. and play with the front end a bit..drop it say 1".. wanted to do rear coil overs as well..just not cummfy with putting all that load on them itty bitty shock Mt's with holding the rear of the car...
