Broke on the 1st run:(

I finially got back out to the track it's been a crappy summer this year. I was going to take the bird since I knew somthing was going to happen to the truck. I ended up pulling the birds carb tuesday and it's sitting ontop a 351W that ran friday night as well. 76 C10 SWB, Vortec 454 with HO crate cam performer 2.0 with a Q-jet on top. I cut a .014 light went for second and the coulmb went snap. I was lucky enough to get back on the service road by coasting and still managed to get a 22.054 @ 54.53MPH. Not to bad considering the shifter snapped before the 60ft mark. So I'm going to break down and slap a floor shifter in since Ive only got 2 more track days left this week for the entire year. I would have been running 12's at altitude with no problem.

The 76 F100 that has my holley sitting on top was running out of steam past the 8th. With the 100 shot it did out run everything it ran against to the 8th.

And I thought from the subject you meant you broke "out".

Bummer. It's the little things, right?

The guy that put a .007 light on me Friday and then slowed told me today he was low on gas. It's the little things. . .

Where were you running, Pueblo?

Low on gas. Been there, done that.

On Saturday I found out I can make 2 full passes with what's in my fuel cell. Sitting in the staging lanes before the third time trial run, I ran out of fuel. I ran back to pit which wasn't very far and grabbed my gas can and funnel. Got the car filled up, left the gas can and funnel on the side of the staging lanes and was still able to make the time trial run.

It's amazing, when you hear the load on the electric fuel pump go away, you should realize it's out of fuel. Good thing it didn't happen going down the track.

First thing I do now after each run is to fuel up the fuel cell then update the log book.

A month ago I won a round when my opponent couldn't shift. The front mount bolt on his shifter broke and when he pulled back to make a shift, the shifter lifted up. $0.20 part lost him the round.

Good lights also don't always win races. We had a racer cut a perfect .000 light today and lost. He was off on his dial in. Another racer won a round with a .2xx light against a .3xx light. Both were asleep. You can see some of the strangest things at the track.

Re: Broke on the 1st run:(

Yep the good old PMI. It's been another craptacular week but I did go out wensday and last night with the floor shifter installed.

Wensday was total crap. The track was horrible but I did give the people in the stands a good 1/4 mile burn out show every pass. My 1st pass went, .026, 4.088, 10.390, 14.788/58.08 for a whopping 21.215@72.79. I went squirrly in every single gear and dident even get traction until 20ft to the end. The rest of the passes were mid to low 16's @85 with absolutly no secondary action. If I kicked the back barrles open it would get loose reguardless of gear or speed.

Last night the track was better but I still had traction problems and ended up running 15.122@94. I need to order some repair parts for the locker this one wheel racing is a crapfest!
