None of the above. Get some sticky tires and lower those 60s.

Gears and Stall I would go with a 3000 sticky tires. Then you have a whole new Beast.

Corvette stall, 3.50-3.73 gears and that should give you a nice hard jump.

I vote for a converter then. Maybe a bit more than 2500?

Re: next mod

3200-3500 stall would be the next decision then. You have a 2200 stall now, definitely jump up at least 1000.

Re: next mod

Stickier tires don't always help the 60' times. I went from Goodyear Eagle F1 street tire to the MT ET Drag Radials, 60's went from 2.03 to 2.08. A little bit of slip allowed the RPM's to come up quicker on the street tires. I say new TC, 9 bolt gears are not cheap, and the 3.27's should be good once you are moving.

little bit of slip only helped you because you needed a bigger stall.

A 3000-3500RPM stall speed on an L98 with stock cam and heads? That seems very high...
I guess it would still be useful WHEN you upgrade your cam

Re: next mod

Stall... if it dead hooks now, that'll help you make use of that traction. I don't think you'll need much more gear with stock L98 - what RPM do you cross the line at now, 3.73's at 100mph are like 5300rpm on my street tires, thats porbably a bit much for TPI, I think the 3.27's are good. I say 2800rpm on the stall, an L98 doesn't really need more, unless you end up with a radical cam of some sort.

Re: next mod

ATC - check his sig, he's got a holley vac secondary carb and high rise manifold. So not TPI limitations, but I still think the stock cam is.

A replacement roller cam would probably give you more bang/buck then a lot of the other mods mentioned eh?

Peak torque would still be around the 3200-3500 IIRC on the stock cam as well, just giving the guy room to grow as well, would suck to buy a 2800 stall and later down the road need a whole lot more. Besides 4400 is the new 3600 and 3600 is the new 2800 No longer are quality higher stalls heat building monsters that are terribly inefficient.

Re: next mod

yes yes no more tpi its a carb now. The car with the 3.27 gears crosses through the traps at 4100rpms. The stall speed of my s10 converter says 2025 not 2200 but still will only stall up to 1800. And yes it is the stock cam plain to keep it in there until i upgrade the to the 4 parts in the poll. My s10 converter cost me 65 bucks. And i can get a 2500 stall for 160. And the 9 bolt gears arent that expensive if you kno were to go i can get the gear set and a master install kit for 298 dollers. I work at a trans shop so gear and the stall i can get pretty cheap. Motive and yukon make 3.70 gears for the 9 bolt you just got to search.

Re: next mod

you won't notice a 300 rpm stall change honestly. Save the cash then. Your S10 stall was rated with a v6 not a v8, and I have a 3600 stall but can only "stall" up to 2500 or so on the brakes before I break through it, you're looking for actual flash rpm not what the brakes will hold.

My bad for not reading before typing... I would say on your list you gave, gears would be the next choice, for me at least. 4100rpm isn't optimal, I would think more gear would benefit you, and if your staying with the stock cam for now, the stall would be less beneifical than gear. I think a cam would wake things up the best, followed by gears and a stall, you're already carb'd so you have no computer hickup issues to worry about.
