Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

Still trying to get use to the car, these were earlier in the year runs in the 11.90-12.08 range. I am getting pretty consistent in the 11.82-11.90 range now. Still trying to get my 60 ft down. Most of these were 1.7-1.8. I think If I can get my 60 ft down and not bog off the line I can pull off an 11.50 time in a Cam only Ls1 car with full bolt ons.

Well, I sold the 18's and now am running the draglites but Ironicly my fastest time was 11.86 with a 1.67 60 ft on the 18" Wheels and BFG Drag Radials. My fastest time with the draglites has been 11.82 with slower 1.7 60 footers. lol I plan on going back to 18's and running them all the time.

Yeah, I'll see if I can find you some pics.......jt

Re: Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

from the vid i watched it looked like you were leaving softly and riding out the clutch. also, i see you have a 12 bolt rear... if your on et streets or slicks, put the tires at 18psi and dump it around 5k rpms or so. it will probably spin terribly, but thats a starting point. start working your way down from there towards the 11psi range.
11psi in some 16" et streets with a 6k dump was netting 1.53-1.55 60's for me in my cam'd LS1 car.

Re: Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

That's cool, i was launching about 3500 on 12psi(Came down gradually from 18psi) to keep from spinning too bad which is where the bog is coming in at. I tried launching at 4 and 4500 and just spun. Just gotta find that sweet spot I guess. I was having a hard time heating the tires also and when stepping to the brake during the burnout it would just push the skinnies. I now have a line lock which helps a lot, my car is currently down waiting for a new clutch. And yes it does have a 12 bolt. Thanks for the advice fellas.

Nice runs JT

Are you on the stock tune? Sounded like you bounced off the limiter on one of those passes?

I'm a very close set up to yours aside from the pulleys, cut out, and I'm running 3.73 gears. My gears are really holding me back from my best et I barely get into fourth through the traps but I LOVE them on the street they are perfect for this car. So far best of 12.2 @114 or so. Best mph so far is 117.

Re: Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

Not bad with 3.73's, with the 4.10's Im almost out of 4th gear when I go through the traps on 26" tires. I have been know to bounce off the rev limiter but not so often anymore. I am shifting at 6600 and the Limter is set at 6800 The car was tuned for the cam and is speed density, no Maf and No 02's. I gained a full second after getting the tune and drag radials.

WOW!

I'm running MAF and front O2's with the rears tuned out... not that they really do anything but man thats a massive improvement on speed density tune only. Who did the tune? Is it a shop or a friend? Got me thinkin now....

Re: Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

It was a Guy on Kyhorsepower.com, his user name is Bluecat. There are a few people using him on LS1tech. He tuned mine with a Wideband and trial and error. Basicly drove it, made some changes, then drove it and made more changes repeatedly until he was satisfied with the outcome. He has a Dyno now so i would like to go back and see if he can improve upon anyhting else and get some #'s on paper.

I agree. You were either hitting the rev limiter or going into valve float. Anyway you cut it nice car and nice times.

JT have you dyno'd your set up?

AS far as valve foat I dunno but be careful with those 918's I wouldn't run them very long they are sketchy at best. Mine floated with 918's on the dyno starting at 5200 RPM. Patriot Golds now and 7K all the time hehe

Re: Few Vids of me at the track (LS1/T56)

No Dyno yet but I would like to see what its pushing. My traps are hella high for what it is. Havent had any valve float with the 918's but have heard the horror stories about them. I will probably pick up a set of heads this winter and just swap out everything at that time. I would love to see high 10's N/A with the car.
