60 foot and reaction time help

Well i took my car to the track and it ran a 14.3 with a 2.0 60 foot just curious is a 2.0 good for stalling up to 1500 or so and launching with 3.27 gears? also my reaction time is .353 if i got it down to .100 would my quarter mile time be lower? My setup is in my signature do you think i could pull off a 13.99?

Re: 60 foot and reaction time help

reaction time has nothing to do with overall time in the run.. some turbo cars stay at the line for couple seconds on bye runs, just to spool up the turbo.. reaction time is just how fast you can react/anticipate the start..

13.99 is posible but you would want to hit that 60ft harder.. get it to a 1.8 and you have it.. drag radials, and maybe more stall..

EDIT: how far you stage in the lights can improve or worsen your times.. i stage by just barely turnin on the second amber.. this gives me all that room to start accelerating and get faster times.. versus if you go too far forward, and only trip the second amber as the lights go down, you lost that extra foot or so of room..

Re: 60 foot and reaction time help

best advise i can give is be sure to stage the same way everytime. wether it's deep or shallow. that way you will be able to run more consistant. then you can make changes and be able to tell if they worked or not. if you line up and flicker the stage light and run a 13.50. make a change and go in a little deeper and run a 13.51. you think you made it worst when you probably didn't.
