Opinions on this combo
I'm about to finish up my ride and take it to track in the next couple of weeks still waiting for a few more parts to come in. I just want some opinions on my combo is their any changes you think I should make?
327 .030 over TFS 195 heads about 10.1 comp.
Air Gap intake
Quick fuel 650 DP with carb spacer
1 5/8 shorty hearders 3" pipe gutted
700r4 2800 stall
drag shocks 90/10 front 50/50 back
ET streets DR
3.73 gears subframes, strut brace, adj LCA, adj Pan hard, reloca brackets
Voodoo cam dur@ .050 233/241 lift .504/.525 lsa 110 ICL 106
1.6 rockers
Do you think its possible for me to get into the high 7's in the 1/8 mile?
Or do you think I'm over cammed? I can't afford any roller setups right now maybe next year for that.
Also I have another project 350 I'm working on do you guys know of any good solid tappet lift cam combos I can use with 195 AFR heads and Vic intake?

that looks like a solid setup.. is that a RPM airgap or just an airgap?? should be good for high 7's..
as for solid flat cams.. the comp 294S is a pretty good cam.. .525/.525 and 248*/248* @.050" theres a few guys on here running that cam.. i ran it with great results until i threw a rod..

Agreed on the 294S cam, seems to be working well for me. Still some left in the car and hoping to be in the 11.70's next time to the track.

Re: Opinions on this combo
ya my first 383 with the 294S cam was probably making more power than my current combo(385, 306S, 200cc RR brodix, vic jr, 750dp, etc).. i was using P&P'd iron camel backs and a performer EPS manifold, not even an rpm version.. my first run ever on slicks was a 12.76 @ 107.. horrible 1.84 60ft.. o ya, i missed 4th as well.. dont remember what the 1/8th was.. my guess would be a 7.9ish..
and that cam was very very streetable.. made it hard to believe it was a solid cam..

that looks like fun..
dang, i need to get a PC.. or at least upgrade my mac so i can run windows programs..
but anyway, those numbers should get you to high 7's.. provided your car doesnt weigh 2 tons..

Re: Opinions on this combo
I have to say I do like the results that software puts out! Those upgrades are what I'm going to this is what I have now try it on your software for me:
Cam dur 230 and lifte .480 in/ext I think its a 280H design
Edelbrock Performer EPS intake
3" exhaust not 2.5
I have a pro billet distributor not HEI
My head gasket will be .015 thick not .028
I just installed my Quick fuel carb on it today that thing is amazing all the problems I had before (bogging, cutting off in drive, loading up) are gone. I don't even have to give it gas to start my car it fires right up every time.
