hopefully no real damage besides that was done!

What kinda times were you normally pulling that sounds like a healthy setup!

i never really got a good run in with that motor.. ALWAYS miss-shifted(foot was too fast for the shift, haha) but my best was a 12.76 @107, 1.8 60ft, missed shift 4th.. that was probably a better setup than what i have now.. made TONS of torque down low..

it was a:
10.76:1
383
Brodix RaceRite 200's
--2.055"/1.600" valves
--cleaned combustion chambers
--SOLID ROLLER SPRINGS(this was why my cam went down, didnt do my hw)
RPM Airgap manifold
800EPS carb(edelbrock)
comp 294S cam
--solid flat tappet
--.525"/.525"
--248*/248* @ .050"

Huh same cam I'm running. I just used whatever springs came with the AFR heads, think they were for a hydraulic cam. Sucks you wiped it but at least it's an easy fix. Friend of mine likes to put used cams and flat tappet lifters in his engines... kept telling him he shouldn't do it "oh, I've never had a problem". Finally bit him in the butt and he wiped a cam hahaha.

well when i found out my cam was gone, it was pretty bad.. but still fixable.. i tore down the motor, cleaned the block like my life depended on it, all new bearings, had to polish the crank a bit(it was that bad), new cam/lifter set, timing set and valve springs for THAT cam.. from brodix, the pressures were 240# @ seat.. i'm running about 135# @ seat right now.. well after the rebuild, it happens AGAIN!!!! one lobe freakishly gone down after 300 miles.. so ANOTHER rebuild had to happen.. i really liked the 294S cam but wanted more topend so in went a 306S, where i'm at now..

i'll be going solid roller if/when i grind down this cam.. i would love to be maui's only streetcar in the 10's on just motor.. most guys are in the high 11's on motor.. 2 cars are in the 10's.. one has a 14-71 blower on a fully built 350, the other is a nitrous(100shot) supercharged(low boost) 360 in a dodge dart
