First track times on my D1/383 setup!!
A buddy I work with invited me go to kansas with him(he's from there) this past weekend (friday&saturday) to take part in a pre-rod run and race event which was held as a warm up for memorial day weekend big show and race. He has an F150 lightning so i was able to bring my dr's down in his truck. We got there, signed up and joined the staging lines....set the nittos at 18psi, it was the first time at the strip with the current setup so i was just shooting in the dark as i didn't know what to expect. My first passed netted a 10.61 @ 130.4!! but with a horrible 60' @ 2.034. To tell the truth i was pretty nervous throughout the whole race but once i got over the first race, i loosened up a lot and decided to let it RIP on the second one. Second race, dropped the nittos down to 15psi and held the converter to around 1800rpms and nail it on the light....pulled the wheels and the next thing i know i was flying through the traps! that run gave me a 10.21 @ 133.23 with a 1.7 60'. Third run, same tire pressure only difference was i held the converter up a little more and shifted at 6500rpms instead of 6000 on the previous runs. That last run netted a 10.24 @ 132 with a 1.73 60'. Needless to say i was walking on cloud nine for the rest of the weekend and i KNOW theres more left in it. Boost was at 15psi for all three runs.

what is the rear suspension setup look like? also, what size tire/wheel combo out back?
those are some awesome shakedown runs btw!!!
now, lets get those 60's down to a 1.5/1.4 and you'll see 9's for sure!

mw66, the rear suspension consists of tokico hp shocks, hotchkis springs, bmr adj. phr, spohn lcas and reloc. brackets and bmr torque arm, 24mm rear sway bar. Some guys at the track kept saying that my mph was insane! but honestly, all that caught my eyes and attention was the e.ts
----------
and oh, 275/50/15 nittos on 15x9 draglites w/3.73's is the tire/wheel combo.

sounds like the rear suspension is setup exactly the way it needs to be...maybe try a better tire at this point? a set of m/t et street radials would be in order here...also, in the 275/60/15 size...you need more meat to the ground than those 26's will give you.

Great times and definately something to get you all pumped up for a "fast tune"
FWIW these S/C cars trip me out. We attended an all night "street race" at the track a few weeks ago, there is a primered chevy II station wagon with 8" slicks that runs there and is always making some serious pwr-in the past it was juice assited running 9's. This last weekend he was there and it sounded stock as could be so figured he was teaching his wife to drive or somthing. he stages, light turned green and it took off-slowly LOL. then once it got close to the 1/8th mi marker it's like someobdy lit off a rocket and that thing was gone...he ended up running a 12.38 at 154mph talk about amking insane hp!!!! The pit beeotch at the burnout box was jumping up and down and said they coould try to really launch it next pass since it all looked good. Well, next pass the driver really started coming up on the convertor getting it spooled up, but it ended up loading it up too much and it looked like a old diesel truck leaving, this pass only netted a 15.?? at 138mph LMAO!! we left shortly after so never got to see if they figured out the tune, but it was very impressive to say the least-especially on a 26x8 slick!!
