I just got the mag today - looks great. Its funny that I see this today cause just last night at the Mile High Third Gens meeting one of the guys was talking about making his GTA a salt car. The car looks great, and would love to see it in person. You should go to the southern rockies board, and meet some of the neighbors.

CONGRADULATIONS on the magazine article

hahah 4$? If anyone doesn't load the pictures tonight I'll load them tommorow. It is a great article, love the pics.

What's this about running 4 cylinders and going 150mph? Could you explain this goal?

I buy the magazine frequently, But Im getting sick of how their articles are only about two paragraphs long. And whenever they show a thirdgen its like pulling teeth with them. They only show like three pics of a iroc once a month and thats it. And not event that long ago, about all they showed were the 1st gen and some 2nd. And I have to laugh at the tech section they have on a crossfire Z28, they show how to install hood struts . Now I understand that some people reading the magazine might like to see some easy DIY stuff but if your gonna show a thirdgen how about a tech article on a six speed conversion or LTX or LSX swap. Besides "GM HIGH TECH" all other magazines disgust me, and dont even get me started on hot rod and how they consistently bash the thirdgens on a daily basis.

It's obvious that they heavily favor 1st gens, everything else is just to stop people from whining

Way to go guys.

I drove over & met the guy (Dave) who started this thread, & he was good enough to spend over an hour with me, answering questions about how to make my GTA a viable competitor on the salt, despite the fact that he didn't know me from Adam. He's most definitely not an "attention *****", if he was, he would have mentioned the fact that he's set SEVEN records on the salt (in a thirdgen!), and four of those records still stand.

(Here's one link...)

It just doesn't make sense to me how someone can jump off the handle like that & chase away someone who might have a hell of a lot of real experience, & is willing to share that experience for free... He told me today that he was a bit disgruntled by the response he got here, he doesn't have anything to prove to anyone, & he's probably going to avoid the boards from now on (this was not the ONLY experience like this he's had, but unfortunately it's fairly typical).

And for those who'd like to see a picture of his car, here you go:

But jeesh, He's disgruntled by ONE bad response That alone makes it sound like he's looking for a pat on the back from everyone.
Sure is a beautiful car though, I love it! Oh, and MW66nova, Paypal me the 2.48 and I'll send you my magazine!

I sure hope he comes back, and is willing to share information about the car. I would be very interested in more information about areo mods he has done, to keep the car on the ground, when going north of the 200mph mark.

Its really to bad, that the people we don't want, are the people who drive people who can really contribute with knowledge away.

I agree V8Rumble, maybe you can ask him to return. Its pretty sad when a new member with only 2 posts comes to TGO, and wants to contribute, but some one comes off with a rude remark. It might of been different if it was a senior member that the person knew, then you can be sarcastic, and everyone would know it was meant as a joke, but in this case, the poor guy did not know what hit him.

Well, I might give that a try. In addition to his cyl head porting work, he's also a vendor for some speed parts - and I still need to order my cam, so maybe I can talk to him then. We'll see how it works out.
