Engine: 5.7 350 TPI - SLP Runners, AFPR, MSD Goodies
Transmission: 700R4 - Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
Axle/Gears: BW 9 bolt, 3.27s
Car Craft 'Bird Build up

If anyone has been following the CC Firebird Build up, you know what I'm talking about, if not let me fill you in:

1991 FireBird
5.7 L98
Auto
3.23
150,xxx miles

Baseline - corrected 14.50's @ 94 mph

Mods - SLP Intake, SLP Runners (non ported), SLP 1 3/4 W/Air, New Cat, Catback, Drag Radials

New 1/4 - 14.19 @ 96 mph

3 tenths of a second in a 1/4 is a good bit, But I was hoping they would run a little faster. They should be running 13.9x.

Then again, the car has a ton of miles on it and that could affect performance, alot. I've always heard birds were a tad bit slower.

Firebirds need a custom cold air intake in the worst way. I did not know that SLP made a TPI intake. Thanks for the info.

When he said SLP intake I think he did mean a cold air from them. They claim 20 horsepower but they also claim 20 hp with the runners also. I believe they should have been faster also.

A full exhaust system on a TPI car will bag you a high 13 second run alone. They should be running mid 13's with Intake, Runners, Full Exhaust, and Drag Radials. Next issue they should be porting the plenum and runners and some more bolt ons.
