first time @ the track w/new car

OK me and my friend just finished our camaro for the strip this summer. its an 85 camaro with a ford 9" rear, 4.11 gears, detroit locker, th350 trans with 2800 stall, line lock, manual valve body. engine is a 355, 10/1 comp, vortec heads, comp cams xe274 cam/lifters, edelbrock performer intake w/carb spacer, holley 670 carb, long tube headers. we're looking to take out my buddies '02 LS1 T/A since he hates thirdgens so much. any idea what kind of times we should be running with a set of slicks on the back?

that intake will run outta steam before that cam does. whenever you can, upgrade to a performer rpm OR my choice, holley street dominator intake. the performer simply won't flow up top.

with that said, i think your in the high/mid 12's.

i also think that unless the ta is bone stock and the guy can't drive, the ta's got this one till you get a better intake.

With a performer RPM, the car has the potential to run in the lower 12s when tuned and setup up optimumly. Maybe into the 11s if you have shaved a lot of weight off and have a little more converter. The Vortec/XE274/Performer RPM combo seems bo be common and successful.
