305 Times
so i took the lil 305 out tonite for the first time this season and ran a respectable 9.17 @ 81. for almost 170000 miles the 305 did pretty well. its actually got almost too much power because i cant launch the damn thing on the street tires without spinnin all the way through first and second practically. i want to see some other 305 times, i want to dip into the 8's before i swap the 383 in this summer. what would a 9.17 translate to in the 14th???

What????? You went to OVR without me??? Lol it didnt matter, you should have waited till Sunday till KYFBodies went to Hardinsburg for the track rental man, itll be good times. anyways 9.17 should translate to about a 14.30......which is damn good for a 305TPI.....I wanna know what you did to it lol. My 305 should seriously whip some *** then since Im cammed, lighter, and such....oh well doesnt matter, seemed the "dark side" is sucking me in much faster than expected. anyways good times man and keep in touch.

yea that is a shame the dark side is pulling you in what does that thing run anyway?
youre 305 should defenitly run mid 9's but for some reason it just isnt running at its full potential. well this season just started and i wanna see that thing rin a good 9 time! im gonna learn to drive my damn car and then im 8's for sure, id love to have a 13 sec 305 before i dropped in the 383.
o yea...if you want the parking lights and they will fit you can have them but you need to make sure they will fit, these are the 91-92 style.

The mustang ran a 9.31 best. I am pulling 2.1 60 fts and even pulled a 2.08 60 ft, which would have given me a 9.2's run if I hadnt broke loose slamming into 2nd gear...which is why OVR makes me so damn mad...so its time for slicks
Anywho, I just bought me another Ford, a Lincoln Mark VII....Im sure you remember this car, the guy who I always raced last year, I am snagging it for $300, running a drving, itll be a great DD beatermobile lol...but that means I may be selling the Camaro here soon. Well soon as I get it running lol, its not wanting to start. But yeah Im interested in the lights and like I said, Ill bring an old one with me to verify it will work. Should but never know. Later.

As big as i am an advocate for the 305, I dont think you'll hit 8's, unless you've put a cam in and higher gears. Not trying to down you, cause it owuld be insane if you did man, but I dunno, TPI has alot of limitations and itll kill the chances of a 8 second pass. Now if you stuck a carb on there and a nice lift cam, yeah youd be deep in the 8's
Well, I was speaking of "dark side' as Ford vs Chevy type deal...in which I have 2 Fords and 1 Chevy...and the Camaro is about to get sold once I get it lined out and re primered....Ill miss her but Ill be on the lookout for a 91-92, preferably an RS...all the much easier, chaper and sweeter when it gets a nice fat 400 SBC in its bay

i ran an 8.65 on a bad tune with the carb/cam/stall/gears. look for some 8.3's outta her when i get the tune all squared around.

8's are defenitly possible for this car. i havnt had a reaction time better than .24 and havnt had a better 60' than 2.2. if i can learn to hook this car better since its been gutted ill be there. im only .17 seconds away and if i gave the car time to cool down completly between runs i wouldnt have to worry about the heat soak hurting my times too.

r/t has nothing to do with et. the timer doesn't start till you break the beams, not when the green light comes on.
what do you have for suspension mods? i was 60' low 2.0's with street tires and 4.10's. all i had was a spohn non-adj panhard and boxed in lca's with stock bushings.

i know reaction time and et have nothing to do with eachother but what i was trying to say is that once i learn to drive on the drag strip a little better i should defenitly be in the 8's. thats why i said once i can learnto hook the car i should be real damn close.
my suspension mods consist of a lakewood adj pandard rod, lakewood lca's both with poly bushings, suspension techniques lowering springs that i also cut, and heavy 17" chrome wheels. but as soon as i go green all i do is spin tire until i hit second and the first run of the night on cold tires i ran a 10.25 and was sideways halfway down the track in second gear.

i do believe that with some 15" rims with some drag radials and some stock, uncut, v6 springs, that thing would hook hard as crap and you'd probably be in the 8.9-8.8 range.

yea defenitly. drag radials are a must and i still have the old drum rear so i can pick up a set of old camaro 15" rims to put them on. the springs would help a ton too but i have to keep it low

if you have to keep it low, make sure you get some lca relocation brackets to correct the geometry on them too. once you get those on and welded up, and some drag radials, you'll be right there!

i believe that the rear are the same for all except iroc and ws6, so really just need the fronts.
