Hope to improve with new gears/posi!
Last time at the track in august I had just put the commander 950 on my new engine, tuned just the idle and ran her. She went 13.3 @ 106.2MPH with a 2.1 60ft time.
Current gears are 3.23 peg leg.
Just got all this stuff to put in this weekend.
Richmond 3.73, Eaton Posi, rebuild kit w/ solid crush sleeve.
After I get her in I hope to erase that 13 in from and make it somekind of a 12. What do you guys think?

It's efinately a step in the right direction. Are you running any sort of stickies out back? that will help too.

Not yet, could just afford the posi/gears/diff cover before the track closes this year. Spent the spring rebuilding the engine, then the gm computer died and I had to use my rear money for a commander 950!

Make sure you get that WOT tune in before you make too many passes. You would hate to damage your new motor. Sounds like you will have a wicked combo when complete.

Have a feelin I've been running a little rich, but not lean. There is no knock, and a bit of black if you follow me. Friend has a WB. Gonna go use that after the rear install.
Pulled the rear tonight. The old posi (yeah it was an auburn) you can move the whole clutch pack inside 1/4" and the axle retaining pin up and down a good 1/8th! Ouch. There was no posi goin on inside there, just sloppy.
