Race gas and 91 octane
Will adding some race gas to 91 octane do anything for me in the 1/4 mile? If so, how much should I use and what kind. I've got a 95Z28 and an 85Z28. I want to try this in both. The 95 ran a best 14.2 but I know it will break high 13's. Just wondering if anyone can help with the right gas combo. How will the gas affect the ecm and spark plugs if at all?

Race gas only has a higher octane level than pump gas. Octane is the fuels resistance to detonation. If your engine isn't detonating (pinging) under load with 91 octane then adding race gas will only empty your wallet quicker. There is no more BTU energy per gallon of 87, 92 or 112 octane fuel. The higher octane fuels are only required for high compression engines or engines that use a power adder since all of these will cause detonation with lower octane fuels.
Most race gas is leaded, VP C12 etc. The lead will kill your O2 sensor very quickly.
