G- tech #s

I bought a G-tech today and I did a run with it and it said that I ran 15.21 @ 98.6.Doesn't sound very good.I know they are fairly accurate but I can't wait to get to a track.

I tested mine at the track and it was to the .01 on the ET on 3 of 4 passes. But the MPH was around 4 MPH faster with the Gtech then the track MPH

The g-tech mph will always be higher because it gives the mph exactly at the 1/4 mile mark. Dragstrip MPH is a calculated number from the time you break a timing beams 66 feet in front of the finish line to the finish line. Since you're still accellerating that last 66 feet, the calculation isn't 100% accurate of your mph exactly at the 1/4 mile mark.

Stephen are you saying that the G-tech is in fact more accurate than the strip?

Depends on your point of view. It gives the exact mph at the finish line however not everyone has access to a g-tech so for the majority of us, time slip mph means more. I can really screw up my mph when I go hard on the brakes at the finish line to keep from breaking out. ET drops slightly but mph takes a bigger hit.

ET is pretty close to the same with both however garbage in/garbage out. If you input the wrong numbers into the g-tech, you'll get an incorrect result.
