380HP + 250 shot of N20? How fast?

A friend of mine, TKD89RS or TKD91RS(i think he has 2 names) on these boards just dropped a new motor in his 91 RS. Im not sure of the specs of his motor, but he said its supposed to have anywhere from 330-380HP at the crank and he plans on putting a 250 shot of N20. I personally think one hit of a 250 shot will ruin his motor, but says "no, its all forged, it can handle it." we'll see.

Anyway, I have a 2003 Mustang Cobra (dont hate) that is stock besides a catback. Now most people dyno around 370-380 at the wheels stock with these cars and believe it or not (i know most of you will not) the catback alone is supposed to add 20+rwhp. So figure I have about 400rwhp.

How fast will his car be? Im pretty sure I could take him without the N20, i have about a 50hp advantage on him. But with the N20, if everything he has told me is true, he should be pushing close to 600hp if not more. What is a 600hp third gen good for in the 1/4?

Car: 1992 Firebird
Engine: forged 357
Transmission: 700r4, 2200-2400 stall, vette servo
Axle/Gears: stock pegleg 2.73 drum (temp)
it all depends on his suspension. traction is everything in this game.

After doing search and checking out his car, I don't think he'll have a chance all motor against an 03 Cobra. The LT1 cam is weak as well as the TBI setup. He would be lucky to hit 280rwhp with that setup. A short run from a stop and he might have a chance but as speeds climb and the Cobra comes into its own the Cobra will pull bad. On a 250 shot though, you're dead. You'll need a KB or full bolt-ons to run with that...

Its more the setup than the horsepower. I beat a brand new (at the time) 03 cobra that had a catback exhaust with my bone stock 330 horsepower 350HO crate motor, and I 60 footed worse than he did. I went 12.9 to his 13.0

"Site updated 03-05-04"

http://www.splitsecondracing.net/camaro.html

That's the engine I'm talking about. If the Cobra guy wants to know the likely outcome of the race, why don't either of the two of you post the Camaro's current engine? "330-380" estimated HP doesn't cut it

ill be the first to admit that TKD is a better driver than me. hopefully with a few mods to the cobra, i can make up for lack driving skill.

That cam is much better

However, I don't see the logic in running all that hi-po stuff and still running the TBI, even if it is aftermarket TBI stuff.

That setup would be hard pressed to keep up with a well driven 03 Cobra, but it would be a good race. Run from a stop and don't go past 100 and it might be close!

Isn't the stealth a dual plane manifold? the one I owned was. I don't see that setup making the numbers your thinking...but I've been wrong before.

for the five or six passes you can get in before the 5 speed frags, it should spank the cobra...assuming you can hook
