What tire pressure to run in front skinnies
What tire pressure should I run in my front skinnies?
I just installed 165r15's on weld wheels in the front.
Thanks,
MD

we run 40 psi up front on our cars, but it's really all personal preference. adjusting the front tires is kinda like adjusting the way the car leaves off the line though. just remember that if your consistenly red-lighting, let some air out, and if your always late, put some in. the more pressure there is, the quicker the car responds

I was told my a friend of mine to run between 75-80psi to help out the rolling resistance. I have been running them that high for about 4 months and have not had any problems

i normally run 50-60psi,rolls way better with hi pressure,i just would not be driving all over at that pressure, too much psi is as bad as too little!

The trouble with too much pressure is that it also makes your rollout very small. If you have high pressure and constantly redlight, try lowering the air pressure.
The only other option is to buy a taller front tire. The 165R15 volkswagon tires are cheap and last a long time but are only about 26" tall. Drag race front runners are expensive and seem to wear out quickly however the come in a few different sizes. A 28" tall front tire is very hard to red light on because of the amount of rollout it gives you.

40 psi would be a great starting point and like mentioned with street cars you adjust you can fine tune your R/T with front tire pressure. At home track with the incadesant bulbs I run 50 psi and at my other track with the LEDs I have to run 25psi or I'm really red. This is with a 27" tire. Once you get into the bigger cars with some power you start to fine tune your R/T with the rear tires. When your going red you can start letting out 1/4lb at a time, makes the tire roll up a tad more and slows down the way it lauches. But that's a whole nother story
