good time ?

hey guys i just went to the track the other night for my first time not knowing what to expect. my first run i ran a 14.191@99.00, 2.312 60'. my best time that i ran twice was a 14.004@99.07, 2.159 60' i was happy untill i broke my tranny mount on the second run.
my car is just about stock i have a 89 l98 shorty headers with no cat into slp cat back, TB bypass, modiffied MAF, k&n filters, air foil. rebuilt 700r4 with trans go shift kit and full manual valve body, with a 2500 stall. does this sound about right or not.

yeah pretty sweet times, high 13s with a little better 60 foot should not be a problem.

Sounds good. I got the mods listed in my sig and I just ran 13.783@99.458 mph with a 1.938 60ft Saturday. All I really have more are the vortec heads but my car being a GTA with TTops is heavier than your Iroc.

The suspension work I did had really paid off. My best 60ft was 1.92 and all these are on regular street tires. My buddy's LT1 Camaro that runs 101+mph was only 60fting 1.95+ with BFG Drag Radials!!!

Work on your traction and those et's will be in the 13s....

Boxed LCAs, Boxed TQ Arm, Poly bushings, LCA relocation brackets.

Some stickey tires will do it as well, the difference with the suspension work is that it improves the overall feel of the car and the car hooks better on the street as well.

99mph should get u a 13.6 about. try to keep the car as cool as possible in the staging lanes, seems the car might have been hotter or somethin on the 2nd? try using a 170 t stat available from GM, run the fans to a switch and leave the switch on the whole time the car is in the staging area. the stock stat and fan setup is notorious for causing hot laping, basically when ur car doesnt cool down enough and the ETs get slower even at the same 60 foots.

Runs look damn good for the mods. Looks like with a little traction you will be in the 13s solidly. Nice runs and good luck!

I might get flamed for this but for the mph and e.t.s you have
your best bet is some drag radials. The suspension parts mentioned will work but d radials will more than get you better
e.t.s and mich improved 60 ft times.

i was thinking that myself. i was thinking about a new set of shocks and some street slicks. i was looking at the drag radials that Bfg makes the 255/50/16 so i could mount them on an iroc rim. what do you you guys recomend i run for i tire.
