Summary of my Super Chevy experience this year

I don't show, just go for the go. This is all with the '57, although I did drive the Camaro out there on Saturday.

Looking at last year's log book, I see that I ran a best of 15.01 @ 95 MPH. I was using borrowed ET Street's (1st time I'd ever run "slicks"), no line lock for the burnout, had to run mufflers so the Warlocks were corked. Also had a Holley 750 VS on last year. I went out in the 1st round of the "Bonus" race on Saturday, 2nd round of DOT class eliminations on Sunday.

Changes since last year include head/intake/header porting, Holley 650 DP, Dynomax Bullet mufflers, and BFG Drag Radials (with a line lock for burnouts). Best slip was a 14.45 @ 97 MPH. I lost a .002-sec MOV 2nd round in the Bonus race Saturday (which was the last round due to rain - all 2nd round winners got a check ), and bulbed in the 5th round in eliminations Sunday - made it to the money, at least. 4th round was a .0013 MOV win.

All in all, it was fun and pretty satisfying this year (only downer was the Nitro Coupe racer getting killed). Last year, I picked up my first set of real slicks at Super Chevy, a set of mounted used ET Drags for $40 - I ran them all last fall and all slicks-allowed classes so far this year. This year at the show, I picked up a new 2800-3200 RPM stall converter to try to improve those 60' times (power really comes on when the tach hits 3000 RPMs). The ET Drags have given way to a new set of Hoosier Quick Time Pro DOT slicks for the rest of the year - bye-bye DRs (they were always a tenth slower than the slicks).

Only 11 months, 3 weeks until the next Super Chevy Show here...
