i'm taking my car to the track for the first time on friday and was wondering what i should expect from it? it's basically a stock 92 firebird with the 305 tbi and a 5 speed, with about 67.5k miles on it. i'm not sure of the rear gears, but i think they're pretty bad for drag racing cause i'm doing 75 in 5th at 2500 rpm. i'm borrowing my friends rear wheels from his camaro, they're 16" iroc rims widened to 10" with 13" cooper cobra gtz's or something on them. does anyone have any tips for me on the launch and stuff? when should i shift? should i let the clutch in slow or dump it? any advice would be helpful, i just don't wanna break my car at the track so i figured i'd ask here for some help. thanks in advance.
