Now taking bets
Going back to the track tonight. Previous best was a 17.02 @ 80mph. NHRA corrected to about a 16.3 at sea-level (I a in Calgary, AB at 3500ft)
Car was all stock 305 TBI/auto/2.73
Have added a corvette servo, transgo shift, 1800-1900 stall.
After 4 runs i'll swap in a chip (TBI chips) and experiment with ope air element.
I am really hoping for a 16.6-16.7 @ 82mph. Not much obviously but every little bit helps
What do you think?

Good luck. I considered taking my car out tonight but Friday night track prep sucks. I need to know if the car will get a 10 second time slip. With poor track prep, that's going to be hard to do.
Just for your information, Race City now list's it's offical altitude as 3280 however my altimeter says it's 3350. The density altitude at 5pm is 4750 feet. As it cools off later in the evening, the density altitude will drop.

Well I accomplised most of my my goals.
60fts were 2.3 seocnds--I cut all the lights (except for one) in the 0.500 range with a best of 0.512.
Car ran a best of 16.8 w/stock chip@ 79.97
Swapped chips and rand 0.7 SLOWER!!
17.5@77mph.
Put the factory chip back in and switched to open element and ran a 16.7 @ 82.05mph.
A side note--this is my 3rd car that has ran 16.7--87 Monte SS and 74 Firebird 350 (pontiac, 2bbl)
So--yeah still slow but you can feel the 0.3 difference.....now if only I could knock another
0.2 off...then I'd be 0.5 faster then stock...hmmm
damn chip

Switching to an open element gave you 2 mph. That's a big hp increase. Time to buy a K&N filter.
The aftermarket chip doesn't like something in your car. Maybe it needs better intake or exhaust before a performance increase is seen.
What about the fuel you were using? Timing? Your 2.73 gears are really hurting your performance. I have a complete 9 bolt posi, disk brake diff with 3.27 gears for sale if you want.
How were the car counts? Were the staging lanes packed back to the pit kitchen?

Had Shell Gold Optimax fuel--been running for a few weeks now. Timing is stock and I do have a K&N--but it wasn't in for the best run because it doesn't fit the open element base.
I just realized something...I may have goofed on the chip install. You are supposed to take the factory chip out AND remove from black plastic cover and put new chip in that and then put in ECM.
doh I'll have to take a look tomorrow.
Not a bad count but I can't really guess. After 1045-11 it thinned out quite a bit.
Saw a new Silverado SS--15.4! Pretty fast fora n/a AWD--5200lbs + truck.
Your 9 bolt sounds great--I don't have posi either Give me a pm and anidea of how much you want.
