NHRA rules?

I my 91 camaro is lightly modded and i don't thinkwould even run 16's do i need to do anything to comply with any rules so i can take it to the strip and show off my "fast" 3.1??

Just the basics to make it "safe". If it's still in street trim then there's no problem passing tech.

Tires in good condition
All the wheel nuts are on and tight
Rad overflow is on and connected
No broken windshield
That sort of safety stuff

Chances are there's nothing needing to be done to the car to pass a tech inspection. Depending on your local track, the only other thing you need is a helmet. It will have to be a Snell rated helmet. Minimum is a Snell 90. Go to a local motorcycle shop and buy a M2000 open face helmet.

i have one tiny spot in my windshield were a rock hit would that matter?

No. They're looking more for large cracks.

for that slow you don't even need a helmet. helmets are not needed until 13.99 or quicker.

As I mentioned above, it depends on the track. Some follow the NHRA requirement for a helmet. Others, because of insurance issues, demand a helmet for all speeds. The only way to know is to ask your local track.

If you choose to wear one all the time, you'll never be bothered.
