Low 12s possible??
My new setup will be:
-Rebuilt 350 bored .030 over (355) with 10:1 compression
-AFR 195cc heads
-Performer RPM Airgap manifol
-Comp Xtreme Energy 08-432-8 hydraulic roller cam (282/288 dur, 230/236 @ .050, .510/.520 lift)
-AFR Hydra Rev kit
-Holley 700 DP carb
-MSD 6AL box with MSD adjustable distributor
-700R4 trans with an ACT 9.5" 2600 stall converter
-Spohn subframe connectors
-Spohn lower control arms and reloc. brackets
-Spohn adjustable torque arm
-3.73 Strange 12 bolt rear with Mickey Thompson slicks
Do you guys think 12.20-12.30 is achievable with this kind of setup? Weight is stock, probably around 3500 pounds. Any comments, criticisms, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a badass setup. A friend of mine ran a setup like that in a 70 Camaro. It ran a victor jr and a really big flat tappet cam tho. It lacked on torque, but it managed some 12.4X's on slicks. With a little more stall i think you could probably go either really really low 12's or high 11's. Also my same friend switched from a Holley double pumper to a mech. secondaries speed demon and dropped from consistant 14.55 to 14.40, so thats something to think about there.

I think you should get to your goal of low 12's. I have a similar setup w/ a 383(see signature) and have run very low 12's with poor traction. My cam specs are : 280/288, 225/230@.05, .525 lift. Like someone else said you might want a little more stall and also you might want to do some things to lighten the car a little bit. Sounds like a good combo to me.

I would go with more stall, but I want to keep this as streetable as possible right now. It is a 9.5" converter, which by itself is a huge improvement over stock, plus the fact that I am still using a stock 84 700R4 trans (with a Transgo shift kit and an external cooler) and I want it to last as long as possible. I don't need the extra heat of the slipping of the converter, since I drive it down the road. I don't think it's too bad of a stall either, considering the cam I am running. Thanks again.
