who is running 12's, all motor, in street trim
I would like to know, from people who have the timeslips to prove it, who is running 12's all motor and on street tires. No slicks or "DOT" racing tires, no power adders, no track only mods. My car is a daily driver that has to get me to work, regardless of the weather. I would like to know your combination, and key parts/techniques you feel contribute most to your times. My ultimate goal is to run 12's in street trim.

To make a 3500 pound car run 12.99 you need to be getting at least 315 hp to the rear wheels. Since you don't want to run a slick, you're going to need more hp than that to compensate for tire spin since a street tire can easily break free and spin down the track.
The easiest way to make a car faster is to make it light. It takes less hp to run 12's in a 3200 pound car than it does in a 3500 pound car.

i got through DE emissions with my demon. I actually did better with it than i did my old qjet thanks to a huge jet change.
My speedo and odometer don't work right now cause i put in a t56 and haven't decided what i wanna do about a speedometer, but for reference, i went to the dragstrip about 60 miles away and used just over an 1/8th of a tank at an avg speed of 80mph. Its a 16 gallon tank, so figure i used about 2.5 gallons, thats 24 mpg. Not bad considering i have 4.10's and a DP carb.
Now in the city....thats another story

Two words that translate into 12 seconds. BIG BLOCK. There are guys running low 12's with daily driven big blocks all the time. that is definitly the easiest way to the 12's.

i would love a nice big block but unfortunatly i don't think i can sneek that one by the visual much less the dyno inspection that we have to pass in NYS. Maybe once i get past the 25 year mark and don't have to pass emmisions anymore.

I went to the track back in December in full street trim. I drove 35miles to the track, clicked off some 12.3'x passes with a best of 114.8 mph. This was with a 2.0 60'. I was on Nitto's, but these are the only tires I run. Still have all the comforts of AC, heat, etc. and I don't use any ice on the intake. Looking to improve this as I'm working on the latest round of mods.

Built 700R4 with SLP coverter. The rear has 3.73 in it and I run a 28" tall tire. The computer is a 730 with an Ed Write program. I spent many hours on the dyno to get the program right. Thank *** I have a friend with a dyno

Well I, like David, run around on drag radials, so if those don't count then I'm out.
Otherwise, count me in as well. 12.8-12.9 @ 106'ish mph in street trim. Drive it out to the track, run some 12s, drive it home.
Very streetable, sits in traffic for 45 mins. with no probs, could get 21-22 mpg if I really tried.
For my race weight I'm doing ok, not good enough though!
Timeslip is on my website.
