LO3 vs LHO
I was just wondering, this is a drag question. what do you think would win, a 1991 RS LHO camaro with a 5 speed, or a 1991 RS LO3 camaro with a automatic. Keep in mind these cars are completely stock. i have read many places that these two cars run about the same 1/4 time stock, just want some opinions

Even with the reduced weight of the V6 it just doesn't have the hp and torque of the V8.

Well i can see that the 305 has the major torque advantage in the situation. But it only has 30 more hp. Plus the fact that the LHO car has the major rear end advantage. Well the only reason i brought this up is because a buddy of mine has a 91 RS with a LO3 and auto. His car has a K&N air filter and a flowmaster 3 inch exhaust system. At this time he had the ****ty 2.73 gears. His car only ran a best 17 sec flat et. The car does like 17.4 stock. When you think about it his car only makes the power of a V6 at the rear wheels(hp wise) Not anymore though, just recently he had some 3.73 gears and a posi put in it , so now its a little quicker. Next time we go to sears point i'll post his new track times.

L03 all the way. 17.4 is not the norm for these cars. I think your friend has a poorly kept L03. most run high 15's to low 16's stock.

yeah ur right, plus his car has 140K miles on it and i don't think it was maintained very well. I know it was driven on the freeway a lot. I guess his 305 just sucks ***. So u say a good running LO3 will run low 16s to high 15s huh, alright. Well what would u say a best run for a well running LHO/5 speed camaro would be? just curious
