i know i've seen this posted somewhere before, but has anybody ran a g tech at the track and compared the numbers? i know i've heard that the times were close, but the g tech mph was a lot higher (due to the different way it measures mph - g tech does it final mph, track does average over last i forget how many feet).

 

You are right. The time will be close but the G-tech takes your speed at the end and the track averages the speed from the last 60 feet of the track. I have never had my G-tech at the track or even used it yet (I hate winter) but I talked to a guy at the track with a C4 Vette who had one and he was running 13.8s at 99-100 and the G-tech put him at 13.7-13.8 at 103-104. The time was close but the mph was high which is what will happen.

Track MPH is a average speed between two points. G-tech is a calculated speed based on the acceleration data within the unit. This calculation is a speed at 1320, instead of the average speed in the last 100 ft of the track. so G-tech is closer to the real speed the car hits at 1320...
