E/T streets are excellent racing tires....they are DOT legal, but i wouldnt use them on the street......they dont offer much in the way of control, and they are pretty expensive to wear out in a couple of months.

They hook up awesome though....because they are made of the same compound as E/T drags.....they just have a few tread lines in them to make them legal.

This is just my persoanl first hand experience with the M/T DOT slicks compared to the Hoosiers Quick Time DOT slicks. Both offer excellent bite, a few years ago M/T were the (****) stuff, but they really did'nt offer much for longevity, almost like a BFG drag radial. Then slowly 1 by 1 guys started to switch over to the Hoosiers, instead of getting 1 season + street driving out of the M/T they are easily running 2 full sesons + the same street driving for 2 years out of the Hoosiers, and then some if you wanted to get technical and measure usable tread depth. I'm not knockin M/T by any means becasue they are proven perfomers at our tracks and at other venues we race at, but I like to drive mine on the street weather permitting and so do alot of my buddies and the Hoosiers seem to last longer than the M/T as an all around performer. Just remember while it looks impressive, with these types of slicks you don't need to look like John Force when cleaning them/heating them up. This will also lead to longer slick life regardless of which manufacturer you chose.

I have the 26-11.5-16 et streets mounted on firebird 16 X 8 wheels. They fit no problem. I also drive with them on to the track sometimes when I don't feel like taking them off and on. They pick up a lot of little rocks, but besides that, they are fine.

I run 26x11.50x15 on 10 inch rims on my 82 with no clearnance or interfearance problems. I have room to go 28 tall but with my gear 26 was better for the track.

If you see someone diving my car when there is even a cloud in the sky--shoot them it's stolen. BTW I could have aqua treads on my car, but with over 500 horse I still wouldn't drive it in the rain. Yes the E/T 's are a little scetchy at the big end but that's the price you pay for traction. Also, I've heard the 16 inch versions are a little more stable than the 15 inch because of the reduced sidewall. Additionally if you change to the widest recommended rim you will have a wider contact patch with more stability.
