Finally the 12s!

Congrats dude, you definitely have more in it. I tried last Wed to get that 11 sec slip....but it didn't happen. Track was slick as crap, could only muster a 12.32 on a 1.98 60' but I did set a new best mph of 114.8. Oh well, next year definitely!!

Hey David,
thanx. I hope you mean next year as in like next month! Don't want to waste this cold weather. Congrats on your new best trap, thats getting up there! Guess those new springs solved the valve float problem? You went with 987s right?
Still planning the cam swap, I've decided on the 224/224, .525 .525 on a 110 lsa. I think it is the best choice for me. Which lifters do you recommend for this setup with the 987 springs, stock replacement from Comp or Crane or should I look into those higher rpm ant-pump lifters? Your engine spins pretty good, so I figured you could point me in the right direction. thanx

Yes, they fixed my valve float, and yes I mean next year. I'm actually planning to pull the heads for porting, valve change, and slight milling to increase CR. I've decided to stick with the cam I've got but I'm going to increase the rockers to a 1.7 ratio. This will put me around a .570/.578 lift and increase the rate of valve opening and closing. I'm using stock replacement lifters and really aren't worried at all about them. High open pressures on the valve springs tend to have an effect on the lifters and the 987's depending on how they are setup will yield around 340-360 which works just fine. I've seen quite a few LT1's using stock lifters with this setup. That cam you have picked out sounds good. Be prepared to tune the computer though with the 110. I've had a lot of fun tuning mine. I think it's working out really well though and I can't wait to see how the new setup will help.
