BTW this is a 700r4.

Well, IMO the best way to spray is with a window switch which is not provided with your kit.

Basicly a window switch is just a RPM sensing switch, that will allow the nitrous to spray only in a certain RPM window (like from 2500-5000rpm or something). I like them because they allow you to hook a little before the shot comes in, and wont let you over rev and keep spraying. When the shot comes in, you will feel a jump in rpm...you'll see. You can always buy a switch and run it on your kit. MSD makes a nice one.

As for spraying through the shifts...you dont really have much of a choice. It will take life out of your trans due to a major jump in torque and if you trans is already weak, it may go out. I wouldnt spray through the 1-2...but thats just my opinion.

A lot of people spray right off the line and dont turn off the spray until they cross the finish.

i seen many races lost due to off the line spraying.. but it depends on keeping traction during spraying...

Nitrous

I have an RPM operated window switch by MSD. NEVER turn it on at 2,000. Start it at 3,200 hp. and end before redline or rev limiter. You turn it on that low aand say good bye. Also you need good rings and not to run lean. Also remember to retard your timing. I say use the nitrous as launch when you have traction. So if you have traction in first gear and are above 3,200 by all means spray.

I have been practicing the old dinosaur hand operated button lately, and I have been letting the car leave on motor and roll enough so I can feel that it is hooked usually around 10 ft or 15, let push the button down. I have picked up a little ( a best of ) over 8 tenths in quarter with a little 150 HP plate system. I keep saying I'm gonna spray it out of hole, but I'm already terrified that the 7.5 rearend is gonna fail, although I have been running it for 2 years now. I don't compete on a weelky basic, but I do have around 150 slips on it, but 90% of those were on motor. But just for the record I do have a 10 sec car with a 7.5" rearend if anyone tells you you need a better rearend to go fast, How long I will be doing it remains to be seen -- although I can't see it being too much longer! I plan to install a window switch soon. I traded a friend out of a brand new (don't laugh!) NOS Sniper system, and anticipation got the best of me, and I had to strap it on. I have been wanting a 10 sec slip for a long time, and with the help of the ol laughing gas, I got one. I don't think its too bad for a full interior, all steel (except hood) licensed and insured regularly driven street/strip car. I drove it to the loacl Sonic just last Thursday for a Cruise-in the local Hot Rodders were having.

well i went to the track sunday. on motor i ran a best of 12.91 @ 106 mph w/ a 1.9 60". on spray i ran a best of 12.3 @ 126 mph. <~~ :hail: w/ a 1.8x 60" . This was my first time at the strip so i think i did pretty well and since im on ET streets i REALLY need to practice my launches and get my 60" 's down to around 1.5-1.6 where they should be. I have my window switch set at 3000 rpms and 5600 rpms. The reason for the fast mph but off ETA is because for some reason the nitrous turned off for a sec in 2nd gear.. let em explain it better lol.. i launched and it sprayed in 1st *and boy i felt it* when it shifted into 2nd.. the car bogged down for like 1/2 sec and then around 4500 rpms it just shot off like a cannon, and when i hit 3rd gear it sprayed all through 3rd... and it just shifted into 4th @ 123-125 mph and sprayed then as well. I am thinking that the engine/nitrous didnt have enough fuel and the engine bogged *thank *** for not blowing up* so im going to get a bigger fuel pump *255 gph*... and/or a booster pump put in. *i have a 245 now* im also going to hook up more sensors and make sure everything is good.
