Chassis Confusion?????
i have been reading conflicting information on chassis set up. particularly the relationships between total weight, weight distribution, and tire size. my goal is to have my car be under 2850lbs in race trim, but running iron heads i am nto sure how good the front to rear distribution is gonna be. i am a big fan of going fast on small, "street size", tires. i am also planning to put soemwhere int ehneighborhood of 450hp to the ground. does anyoen have any experience runnign a 26 ro 27x9.5 or a 26x10.5 on such a car? any input is helpful,
thanks

yea man i think u should check out bmr fabrication. they offer a lot of good suspension stuff. they have a pic of a 4th gen fbody hangin the tires high cuts a 1.32 60 ft and all on 9 inch slicks. its crazy looking. now i dunno what kind of money u wanna spend but the torque arms are high. im saving for one now. but definetly check em out they have a lot of good stuff to offer. i just put a fresh motor in my 92 and thats what im shooting far runnin good on small tires. and whether peeps believe it or not these f bodys are starting to hook and leave better and most on a 10.5 or less tire. good luck

i am actually planning on using a bmr extreme duty torque arm.
i am just confused about wheel and tire choices. i really would like to get away with a 26x9.5 hoosier QTP if i can.
thanks

Dumping the tbi huh?
The general problem of putting that kind of power through small tires is almost without exception there's little in the way of consistency acheived, other than being consistently sideways out of the hole.

Tim, are you moving the battery in back, going with tube k-member and tube front LCAs? I would then go with those art morrison coil overs , those looks really good and you wouldn't need spring perchs. Anything to take weight off the front end is a big plus, the rear isn't as much of a concern. Are you going to keep the stock fuel tank or go with a fuel cell? If going with a cell you could probably intall it in the well and move the weight even further back, just some ideas. Expensive ideas but ideas non the less.
You're using aluminum drums right? Still have that carbonfiber drive shaft?
