Going to the track May 10th. Any tips...
Well, I'm taking the camaro to the track for the first time since the new engine went in. Granted the 2.73s are still in the car but i want to see what it will run with the current gears and the 3.73s. I plan on bringing drag radials just in case i need them. I doubt with the 2.73s tractions going to be a problem and I'm not really in my power band till 3,000 rpms but you never know. Is there any tips anyone has for me??

The best advice I can give you, is to take your time, when you get to the starting line. It is very easy to get rushed. Try to be consistent in your routine, and try to remember every detail about your launch and run. But just relax and take your time. I also would recommend some sort of log book, to take notes on every run you make, including weather conditions.
One other thing I would say, is to make sure you drive completely around the burnout box. Then back up onto the box, not even into the water, or just on the edge of it and do a very short burnout, just enough to get all the dirt and debris off the tires.
You would not believe the amount of people that try to drive around the water box, but instead drive halfway through it. Then complain at how crappy the track is because they cannot hook.
