here's the last email about the payments but you should really talk to mark if your interested in going
Hello everyone,
June 20-22nd Frederick, MD
Friday - Camping
Saturday- Car Show/Gathering, Awards, Vendors, BBQ
Sunday- Track/Dyno

Ok, where to start. Due to the lack of people that
have pre-registered, don't get me wrong, there are
about 70 so far who have. But, due to this, the basis
for which I'm estimating how much more money I need to
collect is based on the pre-registered amount. So, I
am going to try and contribute some more of my own
money for now to hopefully help out. Granted this
won't be enough, but I'll try my best. REMEMBER as
more people sign up and show up as the event nears,
this will make the total cost even less. But, like I
said, I have to go off what I have so far. So...
Here's the run down on payment fees.
If you are bringing a 3rd Gen Vehicle-- I will need to
collect another $20 from you (this does not include
BBQ money), that is if you've sent in the downpayment
money already. Now, if you haven't I need to collect
$32 from you (this does not include bbq money).
If you are not bringing a 3rd Gen vehicle- I need to
collect a total amount of $20 from you (not including
bbq money). If you have sent in downpayment money thus
far, and it doesn't total $20, please send in the
remaining money.
As far as people that may ask, "well, I'm bringing 3
other people with me, how much do I owe". This is how
that is going to work....
With the above amounts listed, do the following, to
include the bbq money I need to collect. I'm
estimating a total of $8 per adult, $6 per child ( of
course we need more than just food/drinks, but
supplies of plates and such.)
So, add onto the above amount $8 per adult you are
bringing (including yourself) and $6 per child you are
bringing.
For those that have already sent in more than the
above amount needed, I greatly appreciate your help.
And if you would like to further contribute to the
funds needed, that would even be more appreciated. I
don't feel some should have to help more than others.
What this is for, is the closer the event nears and
even those that want to try to pay at the gate or even
a week before, there will be more money presented, so
the cost for each individual will go down. A week or
so after, I will be sending out a rebate check to
everyone, that is entitled to the extra money and
distribute it equally.
Here's an example: (these amounts are not exact at
all, and include how much I might have when the
remaining fees are collected)
I have 70 registered thus far at $2200.
By the event 120 are registered for $3600.
As you can see if the total bill for example comes to
$2200 as of now let's say, then we break even, and
everyone has paid an amount of $32 or so.
Now, if by the event there are 120 people
registered(which is very likely) , we will have a
$1400 surplus and that would be split equally among
everyone and refunded back. I hope this makes sense to
most of you and gives you an understanding of how,
more that register the less it will be.

WE WILL NOT BE RENTING THE TRACK. 1-2 lanes will be
set aside. So, we will have to pay at the track an
additional $15 or so to race , and $10 or so to watch.
Also, at the track, the dyno will be $50 for 3 pulls
plus a printout.

If some are wondering where the money is going:
Fairgrounds rental
Insurance policy for the fairgrounds (more than
expected)
plaques for the awards portion
And, an upfront fee for the fairgrounds (escrow) ,
which will be refunded if the bill is paid in full and
we clean up.

For those wondering, we will not have security people
on hand, sorry, I just can't fit it into the budget,
as the price is more than I had already hoped.

For those that have not finalized their lodging as of
yet, please refer to this link
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/for...?s=&forumid=50
and read either sticky titled "Camping" or
"Hotels/Motels" this should answer all your
questions, if not, within the next 1-2 weeks I will
have all pertinent information posted at the above
links.

As far as t-shirts, I'm not finalized on that yet, it
would appear those would be at extra cost as of now.

Also, I am going to need some volunteers for the
following.
1. Anyone that is POSITIVE that they are coming, and
has access to a portable grill for the food, if
possible please bring one, if you are able to , please
email me to let me know, as we will need several.
2. Anyone that has some coolers that are POSITIVE they
are coming, please bring them. I will have some that I
can bring, but we will need plenty to keep the
food/drinks cold.
3. Anyone that would like to help me go buy the food,
either Friday night or early Saturday morning for the
cookout, and are POSITIVE that you are coming.
4. Anyone that can think of something I may have left
out, and may need help with.

Please obey all traffic rules while in or around this
event, remember whatever you do not only reflects on
you, but us as car enthusiasts.
If at anytime you are asked to leave the fairgrounds
by me, you are to do so. Just respect each other and
other's property and this will not be a problem.

Please print this above email amount and mail it when
you mail payment with your signature at the bottom. If
you are sending payment via Paypal, you may just reply
to this giving your consent that you understand.

Also, my mailing address has changed. If for some
reason it gets sent to my old address that is fine,
that is my mom's address. But , please send future
payments to
Mark Shields
12722 Kembridge Dr
Bowie, MD 20715

I must have the payment by April 20th without a late
fee penalty. Sorry for such short notice, but I need
to have the insurance paid for 2 months in advance.
Any payment received after April 20th, will have a $5
late fee added. Any payment received after May 18th
there will be an additional $15 fee added (which
includes the $5 Apr. 20th late fee). I am using this
in hope to encourage early registration and make it
cheaper for everyone initially.

Remember, the more this event is promoted, the less
cost it will be to you, and the more cars there. So,
now that warm weather is upon us, please print flyers
out and put them on parked 3rd Gens, no matter their
condition. There are flyers posted on the Nationals
Regional board, if you would like to use an existing
copy.

For those that had questions, about how much vendors
were contributing. I have come up with a reasonable
figure I believe they will contribute. To quote one
vendor, "if I break even at the show, it will be a
success, it's a great way to meet potential customers
and build a relationship with them".

If I have neglected something that you have a
question on, please feel free to email me or post it
on the Nationals Regional board.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped me out
in any way thus far, as this has become more planning
than I had originally thought.

The above is possible to change slightly, as newly
acquired information is available. In the event that
something changes drastically, and you are not
comfortable with it, I will take that into
consideration, if you are requesting a refund. As of
now no refunds will be given.

statements and willingly accept sole responsibility
