any chance of geting a "block" of sites reserved for just us.
something to start doing around the apr, may, time frame is start reserving spots. I don't think joe family man with his 4 kids and a minivan would like to be surounded buy screaming 20 somethings drunk till the wee hours of the morning.....

LOL, they do say that they have rangers overnite that enforce the rules, just have to keep alcohol at your campsite, that's all.

I tried that, but I have to call the campgrounds themselves, b/c I called the place that makes reservations, and that can only be done individually.

I still would get a block of sites actually,.
The way that the guys on NE3G (Macgyver and Chuck Everly) have done it in the past 2 years. It seems to work great cause most of us stayed up to 2,3 4 in the morning. If people were spread out, there would be to many people wodering arround that time in the morning getting back to their site. Another thing too is, with having everyone together like that, there wont be many kids arround playing ball or whatever to possibly damage the cars. Also too, having htem all together make more for a coummunity of thirdgen people.
Just a few reasons why to get a block or so

Yeah a block sounds good...would definetly be nice having a place to ourselves. This place have a pool and **** like that or what?
There better not be speedbumps everywhere or I wont be able to make it I dont think i could take a speed bump without ripping my mufflers off my car.
Also be good to get our own spot so Joe family man doesnt get annoyed by the roar of SBCs since im sure there will be alot of it

If we can't reserve a block then all we do is insure everyone gets a site in the same area of the park. I Know one campsite i went to they had little village names and stuff. We start at say "woodchuck village" till that gets filled up with people then just go from there.

I'll check on the age thing, I know you can make reservations on line, I doubt they check for age.

all you should need is a crdit card or debit card number. No age required. At least thats how it works in New York. I don't know it might be different for MD.

due to the nice people at the cecil co. fairgrounds neglecting to tell mark they fully booked when he first contacted them, the camping situation is still in the air afaik.
right now, i believe mark is looking at patapasco state park, per flynlow's suggestion. it's right near baltimore. i'm presuming camping is going to run ~ $20 a night, regardles of tent or car. i'll update the website when we have more information.
we'll see what news mark has for us when he gets back.

I think with two people you could shave it down to about 4 days.
heck you can even buy a tent when you get here, and return it!!!
or there might be cabins to sleep in too.

Still not sure if I will be able to go, but if I do I will be camping. My problem is going to be money. I hope everything gets figured out soon so I will be able to know if I will be able to afford it.

I know in MD you have to be 21 to get a hotel, but I think camping would be different.

camping is the best.. hotels and motels kick you out if you're too loud.
one thing that i'm sure will happen.. somebody will see a car they like and get too close and set off the alarm... 168 db screaming at 3 am.. O.o
even tho i've been able to legally drink in canada for the past two years and some.. i'll be 21 by the time the meet comes around so it'll be all good.. legal everywhere
one question tho.. what about the minors there that are drinking?
what's the laws pertaining to that (minors drinking at your campsite.. or even supplying them?
up here, you're responsible for everybody at your campsite and any minor caught drinking alcohol, you will be fined (or kicked out if they don't feel like doing the paperwork and all that)

I'm not sure about the drinking laws since i'm not from maryland.
I'm helping mark to get the campground info together, so here is what is happening so far,
I'm going to try and get an area reserved for us, if the campground will do that.
I would expect to pay at least about 25 to 30 dollars for a campsight.
What I'm trying to do is figure out how many sights we are going to need, so anyone who is interested definitly chime in.
I will make a seperate post for this.

Actually, no campground has been selected yet. I'm trying to get one as close to the fairgrounds as possible. The campground above was for when the nationals where going to be held at the first location.
Keep a watch on the sticky about camping at the top of the page for any updates.
