We all wish 30 would rebuild and re-open. Fact is, the town would never let it happen because of the noise. Too many would complain. Imagine the sound of a nitro burning dragster in downtown Hobart! (I guess it's considered Hobart nowadays) Or is it still Merrillville? Nice thought though.

Its been on the news.
Its been in the newspapers about 3 times now.
Suprised no one brought it up before.
There still arent any real houses close to that place.
Just behind Walmart and farm fields lol
We will see if they actually get it reopened.
I bet it gets "Route 66'ed" and it wont be so cheap to race there, but I'm hoping thats not the case.
About every 5-10 years someone tries to reopen the track. The biggest question is always the money. If someone steps up to the plate with the $$$ than we will get a real answer on what happens to whether the track opens or not. Supposedly in Jan they are supposed to have the actual deal ready. I dont think thats a good sign. They have to get or find the money and there isnt a true plan yet.
I'm still hoping.

it would be really cool if they resurrect the hallowed grounds...
history needs repeating! I love it when they bring back an ol track to the present...at least preserve the site as a historic landmark.
Wish they would of done that to Sante Fe Speedway....but nothing but yuppies own large condos and townhomes on that land ...

from what i heard from a couple guys that keep their ear to the ground and also know the people involved w/ this, it sounds like financial backing won't be a problem...

If they reopened it, that would be so sweet. I live litterally about 1/2 mile from there and there are a few homes there. But the big problem would be the neighborhood about 1000 ft north of there. There are some nicer homes in there and a lot of old farts reside there. I doubt it would happen as well, but it would be nice...
