Getting heads ported....who??

Looking for a very good and professional place to port my very expensive Trickflow CNC 23 degree chevy heads. I need a place that relatively local but I dont mind shipping out of state if needed. I want them to flow them before and after the porting. I am going to be running a new cam with a close duration and I want to wake up the exhaust ports a lot as well as the intake...

Have you had personal experience with this guy? Where is he located? Do you know what flow bench he uses?

I haven't done business with him, but I've always heard his heads flow very well. It may take some time though, pretty sure he's in high demand.

Give him a call to see lead times though, like I said, I've never done business with him.

Porting usually isn't cheap and depending how crazy you go with the port job, you could easily pay more for the porting then you did for the heads.

Also, you get what you pay for on porting. Pay a "cheap" price for a port job and you'll get a cheap flowing head.

Is $1100 the price for a full race port?

Mike Stark at CFM performance here in indy does great work for a reasonable price. He ported my Dart Pro 1's, i'm very happy with them. He does port work for a lot of the local racers, thats how I found out about him. He's very knowledgable about many types of heads and putting together well matched combos that make power.

$1100 is probably 5 angle valve job and a bit of porting in the bowl. From what I understand, he does alot of stuff that some other shops don't do. Go in there sometime and he will show you examples of his work and tell you what you can get.

Did he tell you when he expected them to be done? I brought him some heads about a week ago, and he didn't say how long it would be. I know hes got alot of work to do right now.
