OK Before it gets too late, PLEASE NOT FRIDAY NIGHT I have to work at 5 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, I won't have a vehicle Friday night, and I reaaaaallly wanna come! Also, I've only been to Highland like twice and that was to go to Circuit City to pick somethin up. So, where is Blue Top at, what is it, and how do I get there from Highway 30? Alright guys thanks and I hope I'll be able to show up!

edit- Forgot to drop in there that Saturday night, or Sunday night would work best for me. Or we could schedule this for the weekend after next so more people can get a heads up and make time for the meeting.

Well saturday is fine with me 2. It doesn't matter what day b/c I am out that way all weekend evey weekend. Soulrev-- if you take 30 to 41 and take 41 down through highland you will hit bluetop on the right side. It is a car-hop old style resturant. If you want to go we could meet and go together b/c if you take 30 you will be going past my house.

Will saturday work better for everyone??

Yeah, Saturday can do. I'll be workin' til 5 @ Levin Bmw. So don't mind me when I'm hobbling around, my feet will be killin me. Since the Top is charging for every space now since they lost parking spaces when moving the sign, we should all park under the canopy!

Ok so it's lookin like Saturday night, sounds like it works better for everyone.. Ok so basically, BlueTop is one of those old drive in restaurants? I kinda figured that's what it was by the name.. Alright pick a time and I'll be there.. I'd say about 7 o'clock Central Time (Chicago Time) would be perfect, that way it'll be near dark and a little bit cooler outside. I'm sure I won't get lost or have any problems finding the place, but if I do I'll probably be sitting in the parking lot of White Castle on the corner of 30 and 41 in a Green '98 Chevy Blazer, but I'm sure I'll find it.

How about this- Everyone who can make it Saturday night, come on out... Then, next Saturday (August 17th), we'll have another meeting, that way everyone has plenty of heads up and can make time in their schedules to come. We really should have at least one big meeting before it's too late, so try and make it out there. Thanks.

I will finally try and make it.

Just and FYI though, you guys (& gals) do realize that you are talking about 8-9-02 (Friday), not 9-11-02. August is the 8th month in the year. And even so, the 11th of Sept. (the 9th month) is on a Wed. And that very same day will be exactly one year since the 9/11 incident (you know the World Trade Center thing).

Anyway, if you are talking about 8/9 and 8/10 of 2002, then I'll try. I've never been to Blue Top, but based on the directions I've read, it sounds easy enough to find.

TTYL,
AJ

AJ-92, you are so right. I meant 8th month. It's that Chicago Public School education that still kicks in sometimes. I have been fighting it for a long time. See everybody this Friday and next Saturday.

You gotta learn to read what people mean, not what they write. I'm down for Friday and Saturday. Super Chevy during the day and car cruise at night. I might go into car overload. LOL. See ya then

Well since it seems that saurday is the nit eof choice, the only thing i can think of is that we might want to move it down to miami subs due to the fact that the crowd and atmosphere at blue top basically suck it this yr :-( hate to say it but truth hurts

also on a side not anyone willing or that wants to tag along it looks likes a decent number of us are heading out to DC"s in lowell after the doing the crise scene so if we have any more takers we can get a caravan going on out there :-)
let us know wassup?
later

jeremy welcome back (although it has been so nice and pleasant with you being gone )

But in all seriousness - i thought about the way BlueTop has been lately but it seems everytime we go to miami subs there seems to be a huge turnout at BlueTop and we miss it. So here is my solution-- we meet at BlueTop since it is easier to find and chill for awhile and then go down the street to miami subs!!

is that good enough for you Mr.Moderator!!!! (just playin' w/u jer) and since when are you into the whole bar scene?? have you ever been to dc's?

Well I had never been to Blue Top before but Monday afternoon I cruised up to Highland to see if I could find the place so I wouldn't get lost at night lookin for it or something.. Man, I hope the traffic won't be as bad Saturday night as it was Monday.. On my way back south towards Highway 30 I ended up getting stuck in the right lane because traffic was SO horrible, so I turned in to White castle and got somethin to eat since I had no choice but to go right anyways, well I tried to get back on to 41 to go right and jump over into the left lane so I could head back east on Highway 30, hahaha.... I sat there for 20 minutes before I could even get on 41 in the RIGHT lane, finally got out there, turned west on Highway 30, pulled into a gas station, zipped through it, sat there for another 5 minutes waiting for traffic to clear so I could turn left and head east, gunned it, spun the tires and almost got nailed by an oncoming car, and finally made it home.. It took me 50 minutes exactly to get to Blue Top from my house, and about an hour and 30 minutes to get home. I was also up there to see where Van Senus is at but nobody told me any directions so I didn't know where to look. Anyhow, I've been telling 3rd gen owners who have been stopping in at BK in my town that if they're available on Saturday night there's gunna be a meeting of other 3rd gens, I think there's 2 or 3 people interested and they might show up too, so we should have a good turnout saturday. Alright well see you all then I hope, later.

--Jeremy you are sooo not funny- you need to stop thinkin that you are so much older then everyone-as i recall our b-days are both this month and we will only be like 4years apart. and as for the bar thing i don't think that A) everyone will be old enough and B) that we should take out all of the nice cars and go drinking then get back in the nice cars to DRIVE them home!

--ATOMonkey BlueTop is on 41. If you turn out of the miami subs parking lot and go right to the light then turn left it will be on the right hand side about 3 lights up(or so ). It is only like a 2min drive though.

- Dom nobody is screwing anything up before the weekend. I told you before that Jeremy was going to be there and you guys will have to play nice for the night. He was just stating that the turnout that we wanted doesn't always happen at BlueTop but there has been a nice turnout at miami subs lately. we will still meet at bluetop and if we want to cruise down the street to miami subs then we will later in the evening.

--Soulrev-i am sooo sorry that you got stuck in that traffic monday . i take that way to school and get stuck in that **** 3 times a week. typically on the weekends (at night) it isn't that bad. but as far as the other cars coming that would be great.

what time did everyone plan on meeting?? because things dont usually start happening there till after 8pm but if we all want to park together(which would be nice) then we should get there a bit earlier then that.

if anyone has questions or gets lost or anything my cell phone number is (219)730-0561 and i will have it on me all weekend.
lookin' 4ward to meeting everyone

Or how about we skip DC's and I bring 2 bottles of Jack Daniel's so we can mix it with our cokes? Lol. Or better yet, we don't drink at all. Don't know about you but the way cops are these days, especially around NW Indiana, it's not worth it. All they gotta do is pull ya over cuz they think you're a friend from high school and next thing ya know you're sittin in the county jail next to a guy named Bubba who thinks you're sexy and won't stop feeling ya. Anyhow I may be riding up there in a 3rd gen.. Today at work I ran in to a guy who is the father of a kid who used to work with me. Well he has a 3rd gen Camaro RS, (not sure what year, I'm thinking 88 or 87) that's in cherry condition, and he told me he'd tell his son about the meeting up in Highland on Saturday and he'd let his son take the car up there, so I may be riding with him if he wants to go. By the way one of my friends said he saw a black 1987 firebird (maybe a T/A) just like mine except grey interior and a lot less miles on it, in Portage for sale for 3,500.. That belong to any of you? If so I'd like to check it out.

Damn, got off of work too late. i was all the way over by Lemont at 9:30 so I knew i would not make it. besides i was in my Blazer because I left the Niterider at home nice and clean. I was driving down LaGrange near 159th and it was like I was in the middle of The Fast and The Furious. Pissed me off that I was not in my car. Those ***** were really showing out. Oh well maybe next week.

Ok Dom that is just not called for-- you come out with us and we have a nice night without anyone starting Sh*T with anyone else and you b*tch about him after that fact????? past is called that for a reason-- let it go!!!!! I don't have a problem with you but i do have a problem with your attitude on this board. you always complain about certain people but you and that person (which i will not name)are not the only ones that have to read these childish attacks on one another. if you guys want to fight do it on your own time-- do not drag everyone else on here into your cirlce of Bitchin'!! i don't think that i am alone here. i am sure that i am not the only one that gets tired of reading sh*t like this

Come on you know i don't talk trash about everyone and everything. I'm backing myself up after i've been called out. I'm tired of being a dorrstop for a certain person. I'm really sorry if i bitch or complain, i don't think it's a chronic problem. But you were right about last nite/ it was a nice laid-back nite. So fine nuff said (group hug )

Haha, Dom, I'll tell ya what.. You may have a "camaro" but let's face it, it's a 95. My little V-6 Vortec would chew your 4th gen up into bolts and fiberglass. Lol just messin with ya, but if you wanna run my Blazer I'll race ya.. Just for kicks. I like ya you seem pretty cool. Definately had a good time last night. It was fun meeting everyone and definately worth the drive. I'm very impressed with everyone's knowledge on cars, nobody around here knows a whole lot. Adam, you coming out again sometime? I understand you had to get going, you had a long drive ahead of you, but it was nice meeting ya. Alright well I'll talk to you all later.

Brian

Edit- P.S.- Nikki you got a pm.

Okay Brian, you wantt some, come get some ! Yeh it would be fun to see how I'd do. But i'll warn ya I've raced: mid-90s GMC, Mid-90s Yukon GT, and a brand new chevy extreme. I mean the friggin Yukon was so tall on the muddin tires that the guy driving couldn't see me and the only reason i knew he wanted to go was he was jerkin it at the intersection and he got me outta the hole. So that's the only way i knew he wanted to have his butt handed to him . So yeah if you wanna hang out sometime private message me and we'll get out. It'll have to a be a Friday, Saturday nite, or Sunday. Cause I have work Saturday moring. I gotz skool during the weekday also.
