It's official, got my orders today. We leave Clovis on 18 Jan. Taking some vacation on the way so we'll be there around the 1st of Feb or so.

There's a few of us but no one really "cruises" anymore. Most of us grew up and now got families. hehe

 

Just got my first Third Gen an 88 Firebird Formula. We're starting out slow on the restore, it has a lot of work to be done. I'm dealing with some wierd electrical issues right now. I'm in Provo. Anybody know the best place to take a Firebird for a new paint job in Utah County?

 

Check out Utah F-Body Association Those guys would be the ones to ask that. I know for exhaust and electrical you need to check out "Cherry Automotive" in Murray. They did the exhaust and electrical work on my car after I screwed it up when I installed my new engine and Richard there does outstanding work.

That's cool. If you do call them, tell them the guy with the black trans am sent you his way. I figure it's a little way to let him know that his name's getting around for the good work he's doing.

We get together once a month in the winter and do lunch, then in the summer we go on cruises, hit car shows, stuff like that. Good bunch of guys if you can get them to put their motorcycles away for a weekend long enough to drive their camaro's or firebirds! haha

Cedar City Utah. Just moved here though. Is the closest strip to me Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

 

I'm pretty sure there is a strip in St. George. High Country Raceway maybe? That would be much closer than Vegas. Welcome to the boards by the way

There is RMR raceway and Miller Motor Sports Speedway.

 

But Salt Lake and Tooele are a LONG drive from Cedar City!

St. George is only 50-60 some miles away I think... I don't live there though, I could be wrong.

 

yea its only about two hours for me to make it to las vegas motor speedway and about three and a half to make it up to salt lake. so las vegas is probably my best bet.

i looked into a track in st. george, which is only about fourty minutes away from me, but i couldnt find anything. any more help on that?

 

Okay, I looked and that track in St. George has been inactive since 2004, sorry.

There's a 1/4 mile strip in Wendover, I'm not sure if thats closer than Vegas or not.

is there a website to go to find utah laws. i heard u dont have to have a front license plate anymore. and heard a bunch of stuff on aftermarket head lights tail lights. just want to see for myself.

The best place I know of is to just google "utah driving laws" and do a search. So far as I know, you must have a front license plate. Ask at www.ufba.org, some of the guys might know more as my car is registered out of state.

 

Utah member here from Midvale! I'm on UFBA and UMCA.

 

West Jordan Utah and 2 Camaros, 83z28 and 88 Camaro. Yes it is still a state law to have a front plate I know because I get stopped for it at least once a year. Never a ticket just a warning, it's more for a probable cause stop than anything.
