1985 IROC

Hola!
I have had two thirdgens thus far. One was an '86 IROC that ended up getting parted out and an '83 Z28 w/ 5 speed that I sold last year.
The thirdgen fever has struck me again and I'm looking to resuce one that's in poor shape. I found one that claims to have an '85 IROC in dire need of a rescue. I would post pics but I think Craigslist has some rule about that. Its interior is in pieces, paint in terrible shape, will need some bondo on the rear quarters, but it apparently has a rebuilt enigne and trans (with receipts) i just haven't seen it yet. Only thing is it that it sat for a year but the guy claims to have turned it over by hand to keep it from seizing. I really don't mind putting some work into as I'd rather save a sad little thirdgen rather than just recirculate a healthy one. What do you guys think? He wants $500 OBO.

Re: 1985 IROC

if ur budget and spare time can handle the new project and u alone feel the car is worth that amount, then pull the trigger... But beware.. other members here have found better cars.. for the same or LESS!!! Keep ur eyes and options open.

Re: 1985 IROC

Hey thanks dansm I saw that one on CL too. I dunno about the reg tho. If it's not non-opped, no bueno. I'm feeling more picky now. Gonna try and find an LB9+T5. How hard do you think it'll be?

Re: 1985 IROC

Probably not too hard. Don't buy something you don't want!

Re: 1985 IROC

Haha, yeah Thanks. I'm just impatient that's all. I went to check out an '87 350/700r4 and that thing was a hunk of crap. Got me thinking that I need to be pickier than usual. I already had the LG4 before so I'm aiming to get another TPI.
